My Top Picks for Princely Makeup

Hey guys! As you can probably tell by my photos, I'm really into ouji, kodona, boystyle stuff. I was doing my makeup this morning and I was wearing ouji, and I decided to take note of what I was using the most for a more princely look, and since I dress in alternative fashion every day, I have used certain things down to the pan, which means there's many products I find quite good!

Here's an overview:

My Top Picks for Princely Makeup-Hey guys! As you can probably tell by my photos, I'm really into ouji, kodona, boystyle stuf

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette- This is probably my all-time favorite palettes. I have used Tempera down to the pan, as well as Cyprus Umber and Red Ochre

So, just to touch on the subject of makeup looking more princely, it's a good idea to use natural tones like browns and tans, but it's also really nice when you have a palette with reds, some reddish pinks, and even colors like Buon Fresco. These are colors that naturally occur in our skin, and are also great for making you look more delicate without making you look more feminine. Plus, many times, boystyle takes unfluence from the 18th century, where many people wore rouge. It also takes influence from Victorian times and even really the regency era. During these times, tuberculosis was a huge thing, and it made those who had it look, well, sick obviously. There was redness and purpleness around their eyes, and their eyes tended to look more deep-set. In historical literature, there are often characters displayed as tragic beauties with tuberculosis. Light washes of red are really nice for natural, light boystyle makeup without making you look too feminine.

There are many palettes out there with the color scheme of the ABH modern renaissance palette, so luckily you don't need to spend 42 dollars if you want something similar.

2.NYX Wonder stick- a contour is essential for boystyle in my opinion, and this is my favorite contour product out there. That's all I really need to say.

3. Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in Rose Tea- First of all, this little guy is expensive, and you can probably find some dupes for it online, but I haven't found any exact dupes myself so, let me explain.

So this is a red brown......ish....neutral.... thing. The best way I can describe the color is that it's like rose petals that have been dried and aged, and left out on a shelf until they're brown with dust.

It's a neutral color, but not a nude.

Nude colors are definitely great for princely makeup, but there's a lot of stuff out there about nudes and they're widely used, so I'm not gonna touch on them here.

If you're really pale like me, this color could work for you if you get a little tired of just wearing a nude and want something with a little more kick that won't come off as too feminine. But, if you aren't my skin tone and this wouldn't work for you, I suggest a color that is like your lips, but slightly darker, redder, and muted.

For makeup in general, when it comes to princely stuff, I would definitely go with reds or orangey-reds rather than pinks, unless your co-ord has pink.

4. Skinfood Rose Essence Blusher-

Here's a link to where I got the picture, it's a pretty good review from a pretty good blog.

The first, third, and fourth shades are best. This blush is quite muted, and the brown can probably even be used as a contour for some. I've used it for that before.

A lot of people say this blush doesn't have much color payoff, which, for me is a good thing because I'm really pale, but it's also a good thing because it's harder to overdo it with less pigment if you're a beginner. I find that the pigment gets better the more you use it.

It reeks of roses, just like..... everything I own. My name is even Rose. And it's really muted and nice, the colors of this blush are really great for princely looks. Sometimes I skip out on blush for boystyle, but if you don't like doing that, these blushes are really nice and really cheap.

5. Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter- This is just a really good, really cheap highlighter. Very vivid, kinda glittery, but it's the icing on the cake. It's just a great finishing touch.

6. Creer Beaute Lady Oscar Liquid Eyeliner- An eyeliner inspired by Rose of Versailles, where my biggest princely inspiration, Lady Oscar is! Despite this being made with rosewater and fancy gold and silver packaging from my favorite anime, this is just... the best eyeliner I've ever tried. It has a brush tip, which makes it incredibly easy to use.

7. Nature Republic Rose Balm- Oh look, more roses! This is great for sweet looks and for subtle tints. Going back to the whole "tuberculosis-chic" trope I discussed earlier, using this to make an ombre lip is really hitting that nail on the head. Just another option for lips. There's so many, don't let me see you concealing your lips!

8. Holika Holika Rainy Rose Tree Body Spray-

Have a signature scent! It's more fancy. This is my personal favorite, because my entire existence smells like roses, and I think it's a lovely thing to have a signature scent. Smell good, you'll feel fancier and princelier.

Thank you for taking the time to read my list, friends! I'll possibly be making a lolita, decora, and visual kei essentials list too~

Thank you! Lol nice! I took me a long time to find this name for myself. I always had prince in my names and I just thought it went well with one of my favorite flowers.
