Sets/frame searches should have a rule to be kind to other people's work. So what if you don't like it? It's your opinion, but when you get rude about it, it takes the fun away. Imagine you just put one of your frames or sets that you worked so hard one and someone goes like "they need to do better" like ok? Why don't you try? :skull:  🏻 Not saying this to be rude but people work hard on sets, edits etc. it's just mean to say a set is ugly or they need to do better at something. Like how about you share criticism if they ask for it?

Jesus Christ— I said the same thing a month or so ago. People make me so mad :/
There should be a post about constructive criticism ngl, like some artists would ask for criticism but only if they're getting frustrated or don't like how it's turning out. And even then, if the artist liked how it turned out and wasn't looking for criticism about it, then don't say how it could be better or the person needs to be better. Like just look the other way, not that hard and no one is forcing you to vote on it or do the event :sob:  🏻

It’s really a simple “if you don’t have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything” everyone learns this in preschool and kindergarten.
I agree that there should be a rule in place at this point as well, which is sad to even have to fathom when this app is 12+ and most event doers are possibly around 15-20+ :sob:
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and is free to like or dislike sets. If you don’t like the set, don’t do the event. The sets you liked but didn’t win still have plenty of opportunities in future. Everyone who creates sets is so talented and creative. Attacking set creators to the point they no longer create sets is so disheartening :(
its rlly disheartening to see comments that come off as rude and lacking in constructive criticism, especially when its abt someones work. everyone has their own tastes and preferences, and thats completely valid. however, expressing dissent or dislike can be done with a kind and construvctive tone. when someone dismisses a piece outright with harsh words , it overlooks the intention and hard work that went into it. critique is healthy and necessary in the art worrld ! after all it can lead to growth and improvement. but constructive criticism should foster dialogue and encourage artists, not tear them down
art is incredibly subjective, and what doesn't resonate with one person might deeply touch another so, it's importnat that we keep that in mind when expressing our opinions. a little empathy and encouragement can go a long way.
after all, behind every piece of art is an artist who poured their heart and soul into their work, fully deserving of respect, regardless of personal taste :tulip:
It's also sad that sometimes they don't see anything wrong with they're mean comments and say it's actual criticism when it isn't. :skull:  🏻
Man, I thought we were past those days. I guess not. It's annoying to hear that this is still happening, and I can't even imagine, because I'm not an artist myself. Just because a set is not to someone's liking, and just because someone's style is not to someone's liking, even if it's more than one person, that does not give anyone the right to shame them or ask for something better. Because who are you to belittle someone's work? If you don't like it, then look away. This has been the rule of the internet for so long, which is if you don't like it, don't read it. If you don't want to see it, scroll past it. If you don't like this person, then block them. If you don't want to see a certain person's posts, then block them. I have no idea why people just don't follow that rule. Annoying.

Nah people still did it, I just posted because it just happened in a set search. They even deleted their set from the post because of one person was giving crap about the animation style and was saying someone needed to do better :skull:
no matter the results, the set/art was created with time and ion, talking down on someones work is never something you should do.
Exactly, and we all start from somewhere anyways. Nothing is ugly, and it's fine to not like it but being rude and talking down someone's work is rude and it makes the other person think their work isn't good enough
