won't name which event, but i think if you hire gift editors
you should treat them as event staff/editors because they
are working for your event :p
saying their volunteers doesn't work because your helpers
translators and verifiers are all volunteers too
credit them as editors part of the events, they are
people making gifts for over 1k participants and staff
(and for free)

Hi kupid, kaoo here. You won't believe me, but something happened to me right at an event. I did a couple of aes, and none of them were ed. So, I did a lot of work for nothing. The event is over, and nothing I did was ed. It took me hours and hours, literally for nothing. I hope there aren't more events like this.

I know, it was really unfair to me. I thought I was being excluded in some way. But oh well, I guess they'll give me the set, but I was really looking forward to them using the aes

:( I'm sure it was a wonderful aesthetic too, it's mean of them to do that to you and so unfair
Amen
From my point of view, it's totally incorrect to say that a gift editor doesn't contribute to the event at all, because one of the most expected things are precisely the gifts, which take time and effort, especially considering that despite being templates you have to modify for around 10-50 characters, depending on the disposition of the editor.
In addition to this, if the editor doesn't place the template within the Gift Drive, extra orders are usually made and attached to the folder, leaving it as one more job to be done.
Editing the gifts is also part of the event, especially because some also want them from the beginning to use as profiles in activities or covers, and although this isn't the case, they must be valued as part of the team because they also obtain the resources in advance to later give s a part of their time in their day to day in the gifts as well as their effort, Well, as I said, it takes time.
I add that giving us credits for our edits is not accrediting us as editors of the event, it's part of something MANDATORY for all well-valued editing and aesthetic work, so it shouldn't be implied as "your credits are going to be there and that's it". It's simply part of the minimum respect for our work
everything you said is right, and i couldn't agree more
being credited for the edits are a mandatory thing but we should still be credited as event editors/staff.
Most people in events expect gifts, which makes the role of a gift editor just as valuable as an event editor. There shouldn't be a real difference, only that we both work for the event and are editors
Gift editors contribute a lot to events, it becomes more and more common to have gifts and people are wanting event gifts too.

agreed, i am always expecting gifts in events because i want to decorate my profile with pretty themes made by talented editors day 1 after getting the set :broken_heart: like i did with ari's theme for sunset dragons
totally agree, there shouldn't be a distinction between gift editors and editors, both are editors deserving credit and recognition, there's a reason they are selected in the staff recruitment... I don't have much say in this matter but I'm profoundly sorry this happened. Sincerely, it's not fair at all ! "After the event" doesn't justify lack of recognition and validation for your work and I wish this was different. Stay humble y'all-
ur the sweetest, take care of my guinea pig please 🫶
Panchita, what are you doing here? :fearful:
you're really too sweet, and I'm glad you do recognize the issue with it :') 🩷 :tulip: credit editors as editors of the event, not volunteers "after event"
I'll take care of your guinea pig dw, him and i play mc together

i am everywhere 🗣
Help what? :sob: what’s the difference, lol. It’s the same editors that are working for the event? It doesn’t matter they have made a cover for the acts or profile themes :sob: both needs the time and abilities of the editor. I am so sad that it happened :pensive: :broken_heart:
apparently theres a difference to it :pensive: which I don't understand
