Destined lovers

There is this pain in my heart every time I think of you.

Land can meet sea, light can meet darkness.

Why can’t my heart meet yours?

My heart struggles to stay inside my chest just from the sound of your voice.

Our younger selves loved each other.

We kissed.

But I guess people can grow out of love.

Or maybe we were too young so we broken up to love each other in the future.

Years later I struggle to keep my thoughts straight.

They have gone haywire!

Imagination is now a curse as I imagine you and me.

Together.

You hold me in your arms and speak to me in a hushed voice.

My body trembles as I imagine where we’re headed next.

Our lips collide like two galaxies.

Life and death happen simultaneously.

My heart is revived by the electricity coursing between our bodies.

My body has gone still, I’m dead in my actions as your body gently caresses my skin.

But this is all imagination.

It is all in my head.

For what I’ve from other people is true:

You hate me.

Hate, my friend, is a strong word.

It’s daggers strike at my heart all the while I listen to what others repeat from you.

You say there is another girl.

That I’m ugly.

She’s the better match for you.

I grow jealous of the girl who will one day be held in your arms.

The bitter taste of of jealousy has created acid in my mouth.

And out of anger I spit it at you.

Perhaps that’s the reason why you hate me?

I’ve hurt you too.

I’m sorry.

But I cannot exclude you from the painful arguments and fights we’ve had.

We’ve hurt each other.

Still, I can’t understand why I would fall for you.

Despite our circumstances,

I feel like you like me back but you just learned to hide those feelings with your hurtful words.

Please, don’t hold back.

For this silence between the two of us could kill us both.

Because maybe, we’re destined for each other.
