Malec is one of the three main ships in the Mortal Instruments book and recently adapted TV series. It consists of Alexander Lightwood, a young Sgadowhunter sworn to protect the mundanes from the demon world and Magnus Bane, a magnificent warlock from Brooklyn. Their realtionship starts with many difficulties, due to Alec not being out of the closet and yet in the end they just can't seem to shake the tension and attraction that is obvious between them. In reality Alec hated warlocks and all downworlders in general before he met Magnus but he helped him get over his prejudice and in the end they fought endless battles and arguements to rech the point in which they now are. Despite the TV adaptation having started the previous year, Cassandra Clare's original book series has been here for quite a while and so we now know the future of Malec. It is maybe the mist iconic ship for the fans and almost noone has shipped any of them with someone else.

In the series Alec is played by Matthew Daddario and Magnus is played by Harry Shum Jr.
