╰╮ first and foremost, acquire a keyword.

allow yourself to have a prompt,

by doing so you are locking in a certain

word in your mind. suddenly all those

things and people around you will seem

to be a part of this word.

you will begin to interpret the word

in a different point of view.

be able to interpret a word in multiple ways.

the reader should be able to grasp the premise,

but the reader shouldn't be able to completely

                 interpret the specific 'keyword'.

start by writing down things that come to

your mind when you think of your keyword.

if you can't think of any,

google some general interpretations as a start.

please use the sources as an inspiration,

                  not as a copy-paste technique.

                 for a demonstration purpose,

                  i'll use the keyword "siren".

                keyword : siren

               general interpretation :

loud noise, hazard, fire engines, chaos

               own interpretation :

irresistible distraction, temptation, desire and risk.

coming of age, luring the innocent, deprivation,

           affliction, darkness.

                              ____ . . . ____ . . . . ____ . . . ____

                             ╰ planning phase,

visualize the purpose of your poem.

what is the message that you want to

                                   to convey through your poem,

may it be directly or indirectly.

focus and narrow on one of your

                                    own interpretations, to continue.

not all poems have a message but

most certainly they will leave the

                                    reader awe-struck.

so necessarily you should be trying to

incorporate a sense of depth along

                                    with diversity in your writing.

let your keyword guide you through a

scenario. this storyline should or try

to be open-ended, as it will allow you

you to avoid any limitations on your

                                   creativity. certainly not all poems

have morals, but they do possess

emotions. these kinds of poems are

written to move the readers. for

example, some poems talk about the

                                   pain of a bittersweet goodbye,

the author will try to incorporate

words that will strengthen the pain

                                   rather than just saying

"it will be sad" or "it will be painful"

                                  for a demonstration purpose,

                                   i'll use the keyword "siren".

                       narrowing on own interpretation(s)

i'll focus on "luring the innocent".

                                storyline/ morals :

the darkness, enveloped by the darkness.

                      emptiness and hopelessness.

╰╮ when you first start writing,

it is important to find a writing style

                 that showcases your talent.

everyone one of us is talented in

different writing styles, i tend to

                 focus on the description more.

writing style, means how you choose

to use words to convey your message seamlessly.

it can be solely based on description,

plot, or a mixture of both.

this is what the author tend to lean towards,

having a plot fit seamlessly into their piece

with the help of descriptors. start by writing

anything that comes to mind with your

own interpretations as a starting point while

                having your keyword in mind.

ignore the grammar and write your heart out.

you don't need to focus on grammar when you

               are drafting/outlining your poem.

this draft should be a bare minimum,

you should be spending more time editing than

                 writing the actual poem.

                 for a demonstration purpose,

                 i'll use the keyword "siren".

╰ this should be where you spend

                                    most of your writing time!

editing is what brings your piece

                                    together, adding lines, deleting

                                    lines, rearranging lines, fixing

                                    grammatical errors and such.

grammar should be last to worry

about when writing, i tend to break

                                    multiple grammatical rules on

purpose, it gives writing a dimension.

i don't capitalize my first letters,

it adds a sense of importance to the

poem. sometimes you don't need to

edit your poem at all, as it might in

                                   your planning phase, be complete.

adding descriptors at this point of

writing will elevate your poem to

                                   excellence. descriptors will highlight

                                   your poem all together.

                                   for a demonstration purpose,

                                   i'll use the keyword "siren".
