a mere ghost | short poem

I'm standing in a cold meadow

feet touching the coarse grass

flowers dangling on my shoulders

weaving a makeshift cape

the sunglasses they wear,

the white bedsheets they drape

it's an utter fail to look the same as me

when i wander through thier rooms

my hollow self defying gravity

my faded soul, my ashen bones

lurching toward thier crooked homes

but all i see are shattered hearts

ruptured seeds unable to grow

so i tiptoe back through the tulip garden

to the barren lands i used to know.
