We were the world

But now it's not right

The one we looked upon every night

Just a black and pale shadow

I those nights

The nights we spent on rooftops

Even though they criticized us

We stayed up there, creating memories

We were outcasts, they said

Forgotten by society

I'm glad we never listened

I'm glad we stayed ourselves

Had it not been the case

I'd now be like the others

They call themselves civilized

Yeah right, I say

They say we don't fit in

I say I don't want to

Why be a blank piece?

Like a clone of each other

When you can be irreplaceable

We are all pieces

But not all of us stand out

Now I look back at them

They lived in the grey

And I look ahead

For I am still a mystery

I have a lot to learn

Things to discover

Fun to have

Emotions to feel

I'm not settled down

I'm not civilized

I'm just a piece

I hate this world

I hate this life

It's like a disc

Playing in repeat

I'm bored, I want something new

But there is nothing

I wish I could be free

Avoid all the control

But no matter where I look

Everything's the same

It used to be different

It had to be different

We speak in code

A code only we can understand

Yet without knowing it

We lost whar we were trying to say

Words have no meaning anymore

They are just part of our mundane life

And all this Grey truth

Haunts us in this Gray day

There's no colour left

No one to bring it back

We all fell in the Grey

Giving birth to these Gray Days

So change it

I'm bored of Gray

Let's throw more in the mix

Let's change that monotonic pallet

They use to paint our lives

I'm broken, shattered

into the thousands memories

you gave me

From a thousand different angles

At my best

And at my worst

They are my fragments, fragments

And I've put everything in them

My true identity is in there

I'm not the person I show

I'm not the product they want me to be

I'm a million fragments

Made from genuine emotions

And put all together

They create myself

I'm unpredictable

I can't be copied

I'm not normal

I'm unique

I'm not boring

I shine a thousand colours

Each from every one of my fragments

And they colour the world

I'm sick of this

I won't wait

Tomorrow before dawn

We paint the sky on our own

We'll pain the sky blue

And the ground will be green

And all the buildings will be a splash.

A colorful explosion

I'm tired of seeing the same things

Same people, same buildings

Same trees and same lives

There's no uniqueness anymore

Things used to be interesting

They used to be fun

But as time ed

We fell on the trap

They told us to follow along

They told us to fit in

They said we needed to

They said it was normal

Well normal became global

And before we knew it

We were products, like little robots

Going through the same reality every day

So let's gather our colours

The few ones that are left

And let's paint our grey society

Let's transform it to something new

Come on now,

We're waiting for you too

In this concept, BTS are their own individual characters and some times they interact. The boys live in a world where society is very strict. People are taught how to live, having the exact same lives, to ensure equality. But each of the boys start realising that everyone is miserable, and that they don't have an actual reason to live. They're just products of society. As each of them discovers their true self, they try to break out and change the society.

This album talks about the danger of becoming just like everyone else. It encourages uniqueness and individuality.

The theme colours are black, white and gray, but as the boys discover their real selves, they start to see more colours, like green, red and blue.

The album is called fragments, because each of the boys have to go through certain experiences to finally find their true selves and accept them. These experiences are becoming the small fragments of their new found personality, and are slowly building up strong characters that will be able to go against the system.
