Hello!

Excuse me while I fangirl all over the place on one of my oldest anime guy crushes. Hurray for fictional characters giving us hopes and dreams! XD

Badass exorcist nuns, apostles/angels, demons, comedy, love and sacrife, that's basically the whole series summed up.

The story takes place after WW1 and follows the main characters Rosette and Chrno as they continually search for Rosette's younger brother Joshua who ran away from the orphanage they were living at. Said orphanage has connections with a religious organization called the Order of Magdalene who ended up recruiting our main boy and girl.

One thing leads to another, they fight demons, a war unravels and good prevails.

All-in-all, I loved it but also hated it. Mostly because, comparing to the manga, many things were left out/changed and the end is heartbreaking.

Lol, now seriously, both ways in this case are correct. Fun fact, his name inspiration comes from the Greek god of time Chronos, and during the translation process the Japanese did that little spelling mistake. Also, without wanting to spoil much, time is a big factor in the story. I spell it as Chrno because it's how I grew up hearing it, plus it looks more interesting.
