Photo Setup Challenge

Hello everyone! :grin:

So I thought that I would show you my photography setup.

This is what I use for my social media content (videos, photos etc). I will try to walk you through it as well as I can. Please feel free to ask questions.

I prefer sitting by the window to maximize the amount of natural light. If you know anything about photography you probably know that the light is extremely important when you want to take good photos.

However, I use my softboxes too (Usually from the afternoon and forward) because I like the effect I get when I use them. No shadows, even light etc.

If you don't know when to use your light you can just play around until you find what works for you (a normal table lamp works. You don't have to have softboxes. And if you still want a softbox but can't afford it you can always make your own. Just search for "DIY Softbox" on Pinterest).

I use an old smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S8) for my time lapse videos.

I used to have an overhead tripod for the camera, but I can't find it. So I built my own setup using parts from a broken travel wardrobe that I purchased on WISH some time back. (You could also use cheap PVC pipes).

My phone lies comfortably on top of zip-ties. (I haven't trimmed them yet, I'm still trying out the position before I make it permanent). :smirk:

To know if I'm in frame or not I use some washi tape on the table.

Since the table I'm using is an old kitchen table, it has a few stains and scratches. It's not great to use as a background so I usually purchase Wallpaper rolls when they're on sale. I'm currently using a marbled one (love it) that I purchased for 49 SEK.

I open Snapseed (an editing app) on my phone

I start by cropping the photo to the size I want

Then I start the editing.

It usually ends up looking like this :point_up_2:

Then I post my photos on Instagram. Usually post the photos first and go back later to write the text and all the hashtags.

Well...

I think that's all for now. I could go on forever explaining everything I do and why I do it. But I think that this will be sufficient for now. I hope 🤔
