I'm required to write a cover letter for an internship. Is there any tips to write a good one? I never wrote a cover letter before.

First paragraph: Why you are writing.
Second paragraph: What you can contribute. Think previous achievements and how that’ll aid the position you’re applying for.
Third paragraph: give info.
It’s important that you that a cover letter is a summary of your experiences, not a re-write of your resume.
I hope this helps! It’s from a class I took last semester.
I think it would be a good idea. Make it about a page though since most people don’t want to read through a whole essay
