Finally I have something to post!
Anyways, I've been missing Pronto Porridge, it's a comfort food.

My parents and older siblings would make the ones that came in the pouch. Then when we got older and lazier we got the instant one where you just pour hot water in it and wait for 2 minutes. Then the market just STOPPED SELLING THEM.
I've had other porridges before but they tasted weird so I guessed it was a specific way Jamaicans made it so I search up how to make it Jamaican a few days ago and made it today!

That's my favorite bowl and spoon with some good food :yum:
...
Oh my gosh, there's stuff I kind of want to say but I don't want the post to be long!
My brother's rating: 6/10
"It could've been sweeter." (I honestly agree. We both said it was good, but it COULD'VE been, y'know? But the amount of brown sugar and condensed milk I already added!!)
My mom also said it needed to boil longer, which I also agree with because the cornmeal grains could still be felt, but as usual, I was fricking FAMISHED I HAD to EAT or I'll DIE :sob:

So sweet porridge? I dont get cornmeal part though
Yea, basically! I guess it's referred to "Jamaican porridge" because the spices used are usually used in Jamaican cuisine/baking (I do not know for sure  ).
If you mean how cornmeal was used instead of oats, I always thought porridge was made with cornmeal and if it was made with oats, that would make it oatmeal. But when I searched up general porridge recipes they all used oats, so I guess it typically is made with oats. I didn't know :sob:
If you meant the hydrating the cornmeal part, I don't know either :sob: . The man in the video said it will make it not clump up when I added it into the milk so I did it.
looks yum :yum: i myself am not a porridge fan or anything BUT it does look nice sound delicious to those that are. n one does not "measure" while cooking you just "feel" whats the right amount to use :joy:
Yesss, it was so yummy! And so real.
I don't even know how he wanted me to measure the nutmeg I grated without half of it missing the measuring spoon and mes the table :sob:
