Craft Tag Time

I got nominated by #crafttag challenge.

1. How long have you been crafting?

Hmmm .. Tough one hahahah.. I mean I started off with food 'crafting' , I started to do bento making for my daughter in October 2014. Then I became active on Instagram for it. And then I got to know many new people, and through some of them I got into 'inedible craft world' :grin: I got so interested in polymer clay. But I didn't start mainly because it's too expensive: imported clay and I didn't have an oven.

So I looked for a substitute: airdry clay.

I started in February 2015 after a workshop at a local craft store.

But kinda find it hard to continue, because I didn't really like the result, too lightweighted and fragile. And I had to race with time making one it dried so quickly. Probably because I used kid's modeling clay.. :satisfied: :satisfied:

And then in June 2015, a friend introduced me to needle felting. I decided to give it a try, and BAM!! I got so hooked up to it.. :grin:

and then in November 2015, I got a mini oven as a gift, and I thought that it's a sign, I started doing polymer clay.

I still do bento, almost daily, and at nights and weekends I try to do my inedible ones.

2. What craft do you do most?

Needle felting, because I can carry it around with me, hahahha.. Sometimes I do it during lunch break at work.

And also because since I opened my Etsy shop, people seemed to be more interested in my needle felted plushies than my clay works.

3. What is your favorite craft store?

I have not much of a choice, there's just a local craft store called Crayon, where I learned air dry clay making. They sell clay, craft tools, needle felting materials and tools, crochet yarns, and almost everything, craft related stuffs.

But their polymer clay blocks are too old, they were dry and crumbly, so I searched online for them. And the wool is not so good so I buy mine from an online website, called The Handcrafter, based in Jakarta. They're like authorized reseller of Hamanaka wool.

4. Where is your craft work space?

I set up a work table from an old computer desk, at a corner of my house.. :blush:

5. Who is your craft inspiration?

Another tough question, hahaha.. So many amazing crafters out there..

To name a few: for polymer clay we have Amba from dacraftylilninja, and so many more :scream: :scream: :scream:

For needle felting, I found so many great crafter on IG, I don't know whether they're here or not. Fennekdoll, Reinature Wool Felt, Chata528, Mootomotto.

6. What craft would you try in the future?

Resin craft! But I still haven't found the material around, and since it's chemical liquid, it's impossible to buy from abroad. My resin idol has got to be Lin maysatch

7. Is anyone in your family crafty?

My mom was. Apparently I got it from her. She did cross stitch, some crochet, and origami.
