Again this time I’ll be creating a post with the same charity I did in the last post because grandma and I decided to keep doing it to help out Hospice with our “Barbie’s Rescue” project and is the main charity I donate most of my time in it.

Since the last time I post about this project, I have enrolled to a sewing beginner class to learn how to use the sewing machine and basic sewing skill. I just want to be sure to learn more and make better doll’s clothing so the charity can sell the 2nd hand Barbie we rescued for better price.

Over the 2 years period we have bought many dolls from the charity, clean them, make new clothes for them, given them a name, added a makeup short story and repackaged them then donated back to charity to sell.

Below are some of the before and after photos of the dolls, some of the dolls which already been sold by the charity.

When they first came in,

Wash them from head to feet, put under the sun to dry them.

These were the earliest packaging and photographs. Which is really simple with either 2 or 4 outfits, sometimes they will be packed with a sleeping bags that I’ve made, sometimes I’ll packed some hair accessories with it.

These were photos taken in the recent year obviously not all the dolls that I send off has photos taken,

Recently I decided to include a short makeup story to be included in the package with the doll’s set just to make it more interesting to attract people to buy them.

You may ask, how much will this project fetch? Was it worth my time to do so? Well, my answer is yes! Let me list it down for you to understand.

🦾First of all, buying all the unwanted Barbie dolls off the shop, that itself already help to the charity,

🦾Secondly we are saving these unwanted Barbie going into landfill by Reduce, Reuse and Recycle not only to save the earth but giving a new life to the dolls.

🦾 Thirdly what could be more rewarding than putting a big smile on kid’s face when their parents bought one of my doll and present it to their kid. With that it is also educating the kids to learn about Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Further more with the makeup short story, it encourages the kids to read.

🦾 Was it worth my time?! Oh yes! It definitely worth it. In my personal opinion when you’re doing charity work, if you like me who don’t have the money to donate then donating time to help. In the same time I really have fun making those clothes.
