Considering how ‘incredibly well’ SwapBound 2’s debut was, I’m deciding that I’ll continue the series. Also, I’m adding a few features to my fanfic that I usually don’t put in. I’m also experimenting with this on platforms such as Storybird, seeing how good of a feature it is. These features include:
One, a character input at the chapter’s end.
Two, a note from me, either a joke or something OR a detail that was originally supposed to be in the story but was left out, or vice versa at the end.
Three, references GALORE.
Now, I’d better stop rambling and get on with it, shouldn’t I? Yeah, I should.
SwapBound 2: The Chimera of Nowhere
Chapter 1
Part 2: F-f-fire!
I .
It was only a few days ago. Lucas, Claus and Flint had just left, visiting Wess, my father-in-law. Then, right as I was about to leave and clean up around the house, Lucas and Claus tackled me in a hug.
”We’ll miss you!” Lucas said. “Don’t forget !” Claus said. Then, they dashed off to catch up with their father, who looked back at me, waving. I was sure going to miss them. We were one little family.
It would be just another trip, right? It wouldn’t hurt anyone to go visit Wess.
Hahaha. I , Wess was kind of stubborn, but also had a kind side -- if you could survive the simple fabulousness from his iconic dance.
The dishes needed to be cleaned.
////////////////
I couldn’t believe what happened. A… bomb? The local thief, Alec, and his daughter Kumatora, were the only ones known to even have something resembling that. But somehow, this… this felt all too familiar. Like I’ve seen it before. But that was impossible, because nothing that large of a scale was ever in Tazmily. Well, maybe somewhere outside of Tazmily. But… I didn’t recall ever learning about other places. I’ve been living here.
As long as I can .
Dashing outside, I was surprised to see Bronson, the fireman, outside. He yelped.
“Doorknob! I mean -- Hinawa! Tazmily Village is on fire!”
My blood ran cold. What? Immediately, I patted the head of the family dog, King, who immediately woke, sniffing the air before sensing a fire. Before the dog could dash out of there, I looked it straight in the eye. “Help me. Or else you’ll never have another omelet in your entire life.”
The village was on fire. There was nothing else separating me and my family, other than Sunshine Forest. But from what I saw, the forest was starting to catch fire, thanks to more explosions going off to the north.
Obviously scared by the omelet statement, King accompanied me as well as Bronson. Together, we made our way to Tazmily Village, engulfed in flames. The villagers had fled to close to where my home was, so no worries there. But then I started to panic as I scanned the crowd. Some of the younger kids started to run to take refuge in my house, which I gladly offered, but also some of the older kids were talking. About whatever was more important than their lives, their home and their relatives.
Sighing, I tried to see if Lighter and Nana were anywhere. They were some friends, even if they tended to live a bit isolated, like us. I couldn’t find them anywhere. Judging from the looks of other villagers, I thought they hadn’t found them either. Oh god… they could still be out there.
Pushing through the crowd, with manners, of course, I finally saw the full village. It was engulfed in flames. Dashing through the flames, I called both of their names, trying to find any sign of them. The small village was falling apart by the second. Gritting my teeth, I decided to look in the Sunshine Forest.
Stopping by at the Sanctuary, I prayed on my knees, for my safety during this journey. Even if I didn’t come back alive, I prayed that my family would all be safe. I prayed for the safety of the islands as a whole. There was also a question breaking the fourth wall, but I forgot about it so I can’t talk about it. (That has got to be the stupidest excuse ever.)
Hopefully, Issac was still in his house. Maybe Thomas. Running ahead to the north of the village, I turned to face the blaze. Issac wasn’t answering the door, so I just decided there to leave it at that. Meanwhile, Bronson found Thomas, and pointed up ahead. “Maybe… Lighter and Nana… are there?”
Nodding, I started off again -- this time, interrupted by a person in a uniform. What the heck was that? I was pretty sure it was a human, but that outfit resembled something that I haven’t seen anywhere else on Nowhere. And what was more? They were setting off… particular devices.

Character Input
Hinawa: Hello, fellow readers! I’m Hinawa. I am the main character of this part, and expect me around more! Anyways, I’m sort of.. Occupied at the moment. I mean, it’s not like… uhh… the author forgot to put a spoiler warning at the beginning of this chapter. Of course, that’s only because so far, people should be able to play up to here without too many issues. Starting next time, we have a spoiler warning. Okay?
I’m really worried about, not only Nana and Lighter, but also the villagers, their homes, and most of all, my family.
Well, I guess we just have to push on. We need to survive this, and I'm always going to keep my family in mind.
