Amazing ponies!

Today all 3 ponies did absolutely amazing, each in their own way. I am so happy with them!

Ronja was the first to surprise me. She gave the most amazing walk-trot transitions! She really lifted her front end, almost jumped up into the trot! I praised her loads for this, as she was simply so amazing at it and so motivated today.

Next was Fussi. He's slightly unsure of whips, as he was the one that had to deal with my very start of training (CA and such). It's his first time doing target and clicker training. Last time i used the whip, he wasn't too sure it was a good idea to touch it, so i used my lick between that and today. Today when i came in, he instantly put his muzzle to it, even though i was accidentally waving it around in head height, aka scary. He did so well with touching the whip. When i needed his attention back on it instead of the bucket i waved it. He got slightly startled, then instantly put his muzzle on and was happy. I can't believe he was able to go from nervous to happily targeting it so fast :heart: I thought it would take much longer

Ditte was the last surprise. My family went for a walk, so i brought her as my dog. She was so good! She walked nicely on a loose rope. After the start she didn't even try to trot off. Ate a lot, but that's fine. On the way home, there was a lot of grazing. It was so hard to just allow her to do it, but I want to give them choice while going for walks too, not just in the pasture. They're just much better when they have autonomy. I can't wait for reading break, i'm going to go for "Relaxing outside the pasture" instead of walks, so we can both just have fun, walk, run graze, whatever she feel like. It's not going to be walks, because that would be walking. It will simply be because she's so much calmer and find rest in herself, which is something i've been trying to figure out how to help her find. If relaxing outside the pasture is what's needed, then i will happily do it so i won't be stuck with exams and projects in my room all day.

If i ever doubted that positive reinforcement, autonomy and intrinzen inspired principles is for me, i definately don't anymore. The horses love it and I love seeing my horses get so happy. I may have given up my walks with Ronja, but it's worth it for the happiness now coming from her at all times, and I will get my walks back in a much more enjoyable way through my other ponies.
