Hi, beauties! It's RynRynie  Today's post rounds off the trifecta of black and white ootds I've been doing. Studying 1960's mod has really inspired me to work with the combination more, something I normally wouldn't have done since I used to dislike the colors paired together on me (shocking right?).

For this look, I wanted to create a very girly and feminine aesthetic, something that radiated cuteness. To start, I paired my black sheer peasant blouse with my black mermaid skirt. And while I love my skirt, it has a tendency to really emphasize my figure if I don't pair it well. And while I'm not wholly against that, a bodycon item didn't quite suit the girly vibe I had envisioned. I wanted an additional layer for this look that gives me a bit more coverage. To do that I chose my beige lace blouse. Its A-Line shape de-emphasizes my figure and masks my natural curves. This gives me the modesty I was looking for while not looking frumpy. To add some interest, I made sure to tuck my lining into my skirt so that the lace would have an area to mix with the black.

I also wanted to try wearing my beret farther back on my head, exposing some of my hair like how it was worn sometimes in the 60s. And while I like the overall effect it gave, this was certainly not the beret to attempt this with. The material is quite floppy and it took much effort to get it to stand up like this for the photo. If I were to do this again, I would either opt for a stiffer wool version or use some kind of inside the hat to keep it from falling.

For accessories, I used a black waist tie from one of my dresses to make a thin little bow around my neck. I wore my bone sock boots over a black option to give a pop of white at the bottom of the outfit. And finally, I chose my black girl magic earrings to finish it all off. The large round shape mimics the large round shape of the beret and the polka dots in the blouse. Also, the earrings provide yet another area where the black and white colors mix, and well, I'm black girl magic just like they say.

In short, I would say that this is my favorite outfit I have put together so far. I really like romantic and the dainty frillyness of it all. The only thing I would do differently is to change the material of the beret. Other than that, I say this look is a success. What do you guys think of this look? Do you think there is anything I could add to make it better? I would love to hear your thoughts. I hope your day is going well and that you find a reason to smile. Stay safe and stay healthy out there. Bye-bye!

I love the outfit, and your earrings are so cool!
Thanks and Ikr! A woman at the hair salon I used to go to makes them and gave me a pair. I've cherished them ever since
