Kennith’s story Season 2 part 2

FS Comic 11

“Ash, that tattoo, is that a Dimensional Key?” Asked Hue.

“Everyone has one on Serepentis.” She said.

“You grew up there?” Asked Kennith as he walked up to her.

“Yeah” she replied.

“Of all the places in the galaxy, they sent you to the one I swore never to go back to.” He claimed while lifting up his sleeve to reveal the same tattoo on his shoulder.

“So there’s a Key on Serepentis?” Gary assumed.

Gary asked Ava to take them there but ash freaked out at the thought of going back. They managed to calm her down but Gary wasn’t getting any information out of her. He asked little Cato to try instead. “Ash you don’t have to answer but what happened to you on Serepentis?” Mooncake gave her a hug trying to comfort her. She smiled. Then looked up at Kennith on the opposite side of the table. He sat hunched over. Arms folded on the table top. He gave off a concerned look. She frowned. “You wanted to know what happened to Harp?” She asked him.

Kennith’s eye’s widened. He nodded silently listening to her.

She sighed.

“It was supposed to be the greatest day of my life.”

FS Comic 12

After recovering the second key Little Cato and Nightfall comfort Ash after failing to save her sister. Gary finds Kennith looking out a window on the observation deck. “Hey, you doing alright?” Asked Gary. Kennith didn’t answer.

“I thought you might be comforting Ash right now.” Gary claimed.

“No.” Said Kennith.

“Ash is strong. I’m proud of her but she needs her father to be strong as well”. He turned around to face Gary with his baggy red eyes coated in tears. “And I can’t face her when I’m not.” Gary hugged him and he broke down crying over the loss of his daughter. He can only pray that he finds Layla before she faces a similar fate.

FS Comic 13

The team accidentally get sent three years back in time to Tera Con Prime. They use this opportunity to steal the third key but they need the help of a long lost friend.

“Boy, get the hell over here.” Said Avocato. Lil Cato smiled and gave his dad a big hug. Then Avocato froze as he sniffed a familiar sent. He backed up and pulled out his gun. “I know that smell.” He pointed it at Kennith who had been trying to hide his face since the moment Avocato walked in. “What are you doing with this traitor ass filth!” He yelled at little Cato.

“Dad No, stop! He’s on our side!” He shouted. Kennith just looked at him and sighed. “I honestly forgot how blind you used to be.”

This made Avocato mad. “You should know better Lil Cato, he can’t be trusted. he betrayed the man-“

“Who kills you!” Yelled little Cato cutting his father off.

Avocato was shocked. He lowered his weapon seeing Kennith and lil Cato’s expressions turn glum looking down at the floor.

“He gets you with a bomb. You took a blast to the chest” said lil Cato.

Avocato just stared at him listening to the sincerity in his voice.

“Dad, if there’s anything you believe in, believe in me.”

Avocato smiled. “I believe you”.

He looked back at Kennith.

Kennith pulled out a picture from his pocket and handed it to Avocato. The picture was of him, Kennith and Layla. The same photo Avocato kept framed in his room.

Avocato’s ears dropped as old memories came flooding back. “So he really did take her?” He asked.

“I told you the Commander was lying to you.” Said Kennith.

“And I didn’t listen.” Snapped Avocato.

Gary yelled over the coms “Little Cato!”

Lil Cato brought him up on screen. “Keys not here, ask Avocato if he knows where it is”.

FS Comic 14

Gary, Kennith, Avocato and lil Cato make it to the bottom of the waterfall in space. As Avocato looked around he began to what happened here. “This is it.” He said. “This is where the lord commander first tried to brake through in to final space. We captured the nearby world and used it as a testing ground for the commanders new toys.”

“By toys I suppose you mean bombs right” asked Gary.

“Right, expect things didn’t go to plan. We created a rift in time and tore half the planet apart.”

“So the space waterfall is the dimensional rift in time?” Asked Kennith.

“Yeah, we just ed in to a plain of existence where the world itself is still intact.” He knelt down by a pool of strange liquid. “space flows in to the rift condensing in to a substance we called clearwater. You have to drink it.” He said.

“Alright I’m not down with drinking liquid spacetime or solid spacetime, or pureed or iced-blended spacetime. It— just none of it!” Said Gary.

“Gary, if you want to talk to Quinn, this is the way. How I know that? I don’t know but I know it’s the way.” Mumble Avocato.

“So liquid spacetime, time waterfalls, but not me. Cool, cool.” Said lil Cato crossing his arms. Gary felt a little awkward. “Okay...” he said before walking off to another pool. Kennith noticed Avocato’s frustration with little Cato. Avocato clenched his fists and snarled at the boy. Lil Cato turned around and just walked away. Leaving Avocato and Kennith alone. Kennith knelt down beside Avocato and looked down in to the strange liquid below.

“Lil Cato doesn’t hate you, you know.”

Avocato was court off guard. Avocato relaxed but stared at Kennith with a sharp look of distrust.

Kennith pulled out a small empty glass with a cork in it. He pulled out the cork and dipped it in to the water.

“He’s only mad because he cares about you. You can’t blame a kid for just wanting his father back” said Kennith as he raised the flask up to inspect it. He saw Avocato’s glum expression in the reflection of the glass. He closed it and stuck the full flask of liquid spacetime in to his pocket, before getting up and wandering off. Leaving Avocato to ponder over what he said.

FS Comic 15

Invictus possesses Avocato. His hands clawed at his face in pain fighting off his influence.

“Get away from me!” He screamed.

“Dad! No fight it!” Yelled little Cato.

Kennith and lil Cato watched in fear as Avocato became still and silent. He looked back at Gary on the floor. Gary was disoriented he looked to Avocato for help but as he looked up he saw Avocato snarling at him with eyes filled with rage. Avocato picked up the rifle at his feet.

“Dad?” Shouted little Cato.

Kennith started to slowly creep up to him cautiously.

“Avocato, if you can here me put down the gun”.

Avocato pointed it at Gary.

“Avocato?” Said Gary.

“You stole my son away from me. You left me to die!” He shouted before firing his first shot in to Gary’s chest.

“No!” Yelled Kennith as he jumped at him. Avocato swung round whacking Kennith in the head with the back of the Gun. Kennith fell to the floor unconscious. When he awoke Avocato was gone. He got up, battered and bruised to find Lil Cato crying over Gary’s motionless body. Kennith noticed the smoke trailing from the gun in little Cato’s hand. He didn’t dare ask what happened to Avocato. He turned his attention back to Gary kneeling down to check his pulse.

“He’s still alive, come on. Help me get him back to the ship.” He said.

Kennith lifted Gary up over his shoulders. Lil Cato stood up as Kennith lipped back the way they came.

He looked down at the gun in his hand. His eyes swimming in tears. He tossed it away as if ashamed off himself.

They turned on their jump boots and leaped into the sky escaping the dimensional rift.

Part 3

FS Comic 16

Kennith sat at the end of the table opposite Ash and Nightfall as everyone praised each other before eating.

“Well this is ridiculous.” Said Clarence. “Carnovolo is a holiday I invented for my own glorification and your bringing me diet juice drinks, a cheapo homemade greeting card and now we’re getting stingy on the lavishment?”

Ash tried to calm him down.

“It’s not about what they brought, dad”

She looked over at Kennith who was scrolling though a data file over the table. He looked up at her.

“Their family.” She said with a smile.

Kennith returned the gesture before turning his attention back to the data pad.

“They are, we are?” Questioned Gary

surprised by Ash’s sudden acceptance.

“Yeah! Why don’t you lavish some praise, papa?” Asked Fox.

“Oh, alright. Primate...” Clarence began.

“I find you to be...”

Kennith took his eyes of the data pad for a moment hoping to witness the first compliment Clarence has ever given.

“No, that’s plenty” said Gary feeling the awkward tension in the room begin to rise.

“Primate...” he started again.

“Oh now this is rich” muttered Kennith.

“You are quite the...” Said Clarence struggling to find his words.

“I’ll take the quite the” said Gary trying to stop him.

“Gary, I find you to be-“

“I’ll finish” said Ash chiming in to help.

“Gary, you’re warm-hearted and kinda great.”

Gary smiled. As did everyone, except Clarence.

Kennith put down his data pad.

“Well said, dear” he said.

“Thanks dad”. She replied forgetting who sat opposite her.

“DAD! Yelled Clarence in surprise.

“Well I’ve had enough!” He said storming off towards the door.

“Ash, Fox, you ungrateful mice!

the guy who saved you? Gave you a home? That was me! all me! Am I not deserving of praise? Well, fine!”

He stomped out of the room and the doors closed on him leaving everyone shocked by his sudden out burst of anger.

Kennith looked cross with Ash.

“you never told him who I am?!” He said.

“Why do I have to be the one who tells him?” She argued.

FS Comic 17

They arrived at the drilling factory surprised to find a different kind of drilling going on.

“This is not a drilling factory” stated Gary.

Kennith covered Ashes eye with his hand.

Oooo that ladies shirt accidentally fell off. Excuse me Miss!” KVN ran off.

Gary face palmed. “KVN! Oh please, no.”

Lil Cato seemed confused. “Why is that guy shoving his butt into the—“

Gary quickly covered lil Cato’s eyes and diverted everyone away.

“Okay, we’re gonna wait other here then!”

They sat in the strip club waiting for their who would never arrive. Suddenly Ash gets a message from Fox.

Clarence betrayed them. Stealing the keys and mortality wounding Fox.

When Ash, Kennith and KVN got back to the ship they rushed Fox in to the med bay.

“Fox’s mechanical life systems are shorting out. I don’t have the materials needed to save him.” Stated Ava.

Ash fell to her knees.

“I new Clarence was a deceitful, cowardly, untrustworthy con, but...”

She sat down on the floor curling up in to a ball.

“He was our dad. I never thought he’d con us.” She sobbed.

Kennith knelt down to put his hand on her shoulder but she shrugged him off.

He stood up and looked back at Fox on the bed. Seeing Ash like this reminded him of Harp and how they both failed to save her. Kennith wasn’t going to let Ash lose another sibling, not again.

“Ava, what materials do you need?” He asked.

“Tritanium” said Ava.

Kennith quickly swung his head around at KVN and smiled. “I got this. KVN turn around.”

Ash picked up her head to see what was going on when she heard KVN scream.

“Hay ow! watch it.”

Kennith reached his hand in to a mesh of exposed wires on KVN’s back.

“Waaahh, what are you doing!” Yelled Ash as she stood up in alarm.

“Don’t look at me”. Said KVN.

“Hold still” said Kennith.

“Is this what those women were doing to you earlier? Asked Ash.

“No, well yes but-“

“Don’t make this weird” snapped Kennith.

He pulled out a large computer chip.

“What is that?” Ash questioned.

“That is my falanger. Made out of Tritanium, and it keeps me from going insane!” Said KVN.

Kennith was about to hand it to Ava.

“Wait, doesn’t KVN need that?” Said Ash.

“It wasn’t even plugged in. It was just stuck on with duct tape.” Kennith explained.

“I’ll be fine, besides I want Fox to live. I like him” said KVN snatching it from Kennith’s hand and giving it to Ava.

Ava got to work applying it to Fox.

“Ash, Fox’s vitals have stabilised” she said.

Ash placed her hand on the glass smiling down at Fox on the bed.

“KVN, I just want to say thank you for this. For everything”.

KVN ignored her and began bashing his head with a metal pipe.

“Insanity levels reaching dangerous levels!”

Ash turned around and gave Kennith a big hug.

“You’re my hero.” She whispered.

Kennith smiled but then KVN hugged him too and started munching on Ash’s hair.

She didn’t seem to care. She gave KVN a kiss and then went back to watching over Fox.

FS Comic 18

The assault on Todd’s Ship was underway. Lil Cato, KVN, Kennith and Mooncake blasted their way through the halls Ash fires hell from above.

“Die die die die!” She screamed.

“Whoa-ho! Get ‘em, Ashy!” Yelled Lil Cato in excitement. She flew down at him in anger to berate him before flying off again.

“You can call me Ash, Miss Graven or Ma’am but not Ashy!”

As she flew off to destroy her enemy’s Kennith watched on with a tear forming in his eye and a smile on his face.

“My little girls all grown up. I’m so proud of her.” He said.
