I do love a writing challenge and Kruger’s is no exception! :skull: 🖤

Here’s my poem:

Oh, The Misery

I’ve read every novel, watched your series grow

What luck! Your car careened into the snow

Your number one fan will take great care

Making true love permeate throughout the air

I will be your nurse, your confidant, your muse

Misery loves company, I know you will too

You awoke befuddled, startled and lost

No need to fear, Paul. You’re safe from the frost

I dressed every scratch, tended every wound

I’m sure you’ll grow accustomed to this room

Take some aspirin for the pain, yell if you must

I’ll be right there, now, there’s no need to fuss

Some time has ed by since you’ve been in bed

Let’s not let delirium stir inside of that head

Cabin fever took over once before.

You slunk out of bed. Through my home, you explored

You dirty birdy, you wandered and wondered too far

Don’t worry! Hobbling doesn’t leave a scar!

You think you had some grandiose plan

For Misery to take her final stand

Silly, Paul! I’ll fetch all of the tools you need

You’re through with her story? Oh, not my Misery!

You were so callous, so picky, so greedy!

Smudge-proof paper, old typewriter, specifically needy

No! NO! That’s all wrong! You must rewrite!

Fuel the fire, light the flame. Set the rough draft alight

We’re no match for cockadoody writer’s block

Your brilliant mind will surely draw a new plot

My Misery will live on, my mused character shall shine!

Here’s your cigarette, myself best dressed, and wine

He’ll surely dedicate this work to me,

His muse, the angel who brought back Misery

The series will be reborn and he’ll see me in new light

Not only his savior, but his newfound write

He firstly wants dinner, but we’ll surely go on

I brought Paul Sheldon back! What could go wrong?
