梅の花 or Plum blossoms are different from Sakura aka Cherry Blossoms. Plum blossoms comes in different shades of pink (dark pink and light pink), white, and yellow. The petals are different as well. It's rounder and have at least 5 petals. The aroma of these flowers are a sweet and flowery scent, similar to Bath and Body works Sweet Pea but a bit lighter. (IDK that's how I describe it)

The plum blossoms have different meanings behind them: Spring's arrival, Protection, and Good health. There is a festival every year in Kangawa called the Odawara Ume Festival, if interested you can google it for more info.

All of my images came from the Wiki Kana or the mandarin dictionary (http://www.strokeorder.info/mandarin.php?q=花). Just for those that dont know, Kanji is written the same way as Chinese characters. However, their meanings and pronunciation is slightly different :) if you feel uncomfortable with it then you can also use the Japanese Kanji Dictionary( https://nihongoichiban.com/2011/04/09/jlpt-kanji-花/). Also the lovely plum blossom photos are from google images.
