Today's segment: Blood types and personalities

I know that this has been discussed by others, but I felt that my Culture cake would be incomplete without it. While other cultures link personalities to zodiac signs or colors, South Korea uses Blood Types.

The idea of blood types being linked to certain personality traits goes back to the 1920's in Japan. It was resurrected by a Japanese writer, Masahiko Nomi. The thought of blood type personalities then spread outward and made its roots primarily in South Korea and Taiwan.

Blood Type A

▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

People with type A are reddened to as "Farmers." They are concise rate of others and loyal to a fault. Type A's can be secretive and reluctant to share their feelings. They don't hold liquor well.

Positive traits: Conservative, introverted, reserved, patient, punctual and inclined to be perfectionists.

Negative traits: Obsessive, stubborn, self conscious and uptight.

Blood Type B

▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

People with Type B are reddened to as the "hunters." They are independent and carefree. They are often described as shallow and lazy, but they can be ionate. Patience is not their virtue.

In Korea, type B men are said to be players, selfish, mercurial, quick to anger and non-reliable. Their bad boy image is attractive to women but they are not husband material.

Positive traits: Animal-loving, creative, flexible, individualistic, optimistic and ionate.

Negative traits: Forgetful, irresponsible and self-centered.

Blood Type AB

People with type AB are said to be the "humanists." They are more rational thinkers than emotional. They are good with money but unpredictable. They want harmony so they work good with mediators. Some concise them two-faced and untrustworthy.

Positive traits: Cool, controlled, empathic, introverted and rational.

Negative traits: Aloof, critical, indecisive and unforgiving.

Blood Type O

People with blood type O are reddened to as the "warriors." They are born leaders and athletes. They tend to be outgoing, expressive and ionate. Bad news is that they can bore other with their drive for success and gloating. They aren't afraid to take risks and have a strong B physical presence.

Positive traits: Ambitious, athletic, robust and self-confident.

Negative traits: Arrogant, insensitive, ruthless and vain.

So when traveling to Korea be sure to be ready to answer the pick up line "What's your blood type?"
