today i will be talking about some actors and actresses whose role i loved, and whose role i hated.

this just goes to show that you can love an actor, but hate the specific character that they play because each character is different!

ALSO! there will be minor spoilers for the dramas and a MAJOR spoiler for the drama missing 9 so read at your own risk!

p.s. when i say “hate” i’m really just saying it for dramatic effect. ; )

〉why i disliked the character〈

✎ words cannot express my dislike for ji hoo! he was so beyond annoying! i didn’t like anything about him. he was boring, lifeless, and he was always whining about something.

why jan di liked him at all is beyond me. jun pyo was so much better! at least jun pyo had a personality. ji hoo was just there to cause problems for jun pyo and whine.

sorry to all of you got sls and really liked him but ji hoo was just too boring for my taste.

〉why i loved the character〈

✎ all right i LOVED seung jo.

sure he was cold to ha ni in the beginning. and yes it took him far too long to realize that he liked her but you cannot tell me that that scene when he kisses her in the rain did not make your heart melt!!

once my boy stoped trying to be this “cool” guy who didn’t care about anything he became amazing! how he treats ha ni after they get married is beyond adorable and i quite likes the fact that he pushed her to try harder in life!

seung jo was a really great character and i liked him so much!!

〉why i disliked the character〈

✎ i really like yoo in na. she’s one of my favorite k-actresses so when i found myself becoming utterly annoyed with her character se mi in my love from a star i was taken aback.

se mi just annoyed me so much! her pining after hee kyung and her blaming everything on song yi was just annoying.

song yi never really expressed interest in hee kyung so se mi could have very well told him she liked him.

heck, se mi could have even told song yi that she liked him and she would have been fine with it.

but no, se mi just went around whining and being rude to song yi for what? who knows.

se mi was a huge miss for me.

✎ sunny! i just adored this character. i really related a lot to sunny because i too am a hopeless romantic!

i loved how she had such a strong sense of self and was so so kind!

her and the grim reaper’s romance was so beautiful and i loved how sunny was always looking on the bright side of things!

sunny was such an amazing character and i’m so glad that yoo in na got to portray her!

sunny is probably one of my favorite characters of all time! she’s confident, kind, and has a great sense of style!!

✎ okay his character in missing 9 sucked. how DARE he *SPOILER ALERT* kill my poor baby chanyeol?!?! his character was already a major tool so him becoming a cold blooded murderer was the icing on top of the frickin’ cake.

after that happened i was done with his character and i found myself shouting at my tv hoping that he too would die.

i hate hate hate hate HATE this character!!!

(sorry to anyone who actually liked him but i don’t)

✎ ji eun hyuk was such a lovable character! he was so cute and fluffy and his undying friendship with noh ji wook was so sweet! i love me a good bromance and theirs was so cute.

he was so honorable, funny, cute, and his shiny personality lit up the screen!

i also totally shipped him with cha yoo jung and i love that they got to have a happy ending too!

i am so happy that choi tae joon played such a sweet character because after i saw him in missing 9 i needed a cute character like ji eun hyuk!

✎ okay, her character in this drama was ridiculous. i partly blame the writers for writing such a sorry excuse for a female lead. when she changed her mind and wanted to be with lee jae hee instead of han tae sang i was okay with that. i think it’s totally okay to have a change of heart and tbh i liked jae hee better too.

BUT THEN, homegirl went and changed her mind AGAIN! it’s like honey you gotta pick one. you cannot flip flop and act all innocent when you do.

ugh, this character was the WORST and tbh i wasn’t even mad when she got hit by a car (sorry, not sorry).

✎ now oh cho rim is a character that i just adore! this was such a good character for shin se kyung to play because it made me like her as an actress.

oh cho rim was so funny! i loved that she wanted to be a comedian and her practice with choi moo gak was so funny!!

she was also a pretty strong character. with her unique sense of smell she really wanted to help detective choi find the murder and didn’t shy away in the face of danger!

i know a lot of people don’t really like shin se kyung as an actress but i think that people would really like her character in the girl who sees smells!

✎ now, half of me loves baek in ha and half of me hates her. at times i could sympathize with this character but for the most part she just annoyed the heck outta me.

she was always screaming. like constantly screaming. i really didn’t get it. and she was so mean to her brother! baek in ho gave this girl way to many chances. she totally took advantage of his kindness and that really grinned my gears. she was just so ungrateful and annoying.

even though her character had a terrible personality, her style on the other had was on POINT!

✎ KIM BOK JOO!!!!!

i LOVE this character! from her awkwardness to her strength she was so so cool!

i could totally relate to her stumbling around a cute boy she likes and i 100% agree with her love of food!!

kim bok joo is such a lovable character and i think it really helped lee sung kyung to shine!

she’s also one half of the swag couple aka one of the cutest couple EVER!

〉why i disliked the character〈

✎ i feel as if this is a pretty unpopular opinion but his character in she was pretty was horrible.

he was so rude to hye jin when he didn’t know that she was his childhood bestie. let’s not forget that he yelled at her, called her dumb, and humiliated her!

sure he started to warm up to her and grew to love her but i just couldn’t get past what big of a jerk he was in the beginning.

ESPECIALLY when you had shin hyuk just being all cute and sweet and not rude but whatevah...

this boy would have not gotten my love if it were me but it wasn’t me so he got the girl in the end (poor shin hyuk!)

✎ oh ri on was just...superb!

i really liked his character a ton! he was just so sweet to oh ri jin and i really liked their relationship.

YES, i was totally team cha do hyun (don’t think i wasn’t) but idk ri on was so protective and caring that it just made my heart melt!

his scenes with yo na made me laugh till i cried and his heart wrenching scenes broke my heart.

ri on was caring, creative, funny, and so full of love and that is the kind of character i just adore!

psst, ri on and yo na for ever!!!!

welp, those are my picks of characters that i loved and hated played by the same actor!

often times people forget that a character is just a character and they end up hating the actor who played said character.

i think it’s important to separate the character from the actor who’s portraying him/her.
