You are a prosecutor who previously worked

for the South Korean prosecutor branch in

Seoul. Now that your time is up, your boss

decides to transfer you to another area. Your

boss said that you will be transferring to the

CCase Prosecutor Branch.

Apparently, it’s a new prosecutor branch in

the system. You wonder what might be there.

As you walk up the steps to your new office,

you come across a well known prosecutor

near the door and instantly recognize them.

Prosecutor Jamie is the Ace of criminal cases.

Their expertise at gathering evidence that turns

cases around has led many confident bad guys

to cry in the courtroom as they get carted off to

prison.

Jamie: Hello! I’m Jamie, your new partner-in-crime for the CCase Prosecutor Branch. I hope we can work together soon *shakes your hand* once you get used to this place.

≻ You: *nervous* Oh... Hi. I heard that you guys used to be a private detective agency and rebranded yourselves as prosecutors.

Jamie: Oh yes! We used to be private investigators under the name CCatch. Now we are done with the catching and wanted to focus on the investigation in order to grab enough evidence for our cases to the court. Why don’t I show you the team that you’ll be working with from now on? They’re in the middle of a current case now. So don’t mind them talking it out a little bit in order to find something.

As Jamie is done with talking to you about

the origin of the branch,   she leads you to

the area where you will be working on future

cases, including the new one she mentioned.

After she showed you to your little office area,

Jamie leads the way to the meeting room

where two other prosecutors are arguing over

how the case should go.

You see 2 people sitting at a large conference

room table. In front is a projection screen with

pictures and notes detailing a high level case

that’s been all over the news.

Looking back at the two individuals, you feel a

bit initimidated as the first inidividual is none

other than   Prosecutor Rei.    He’s known as

“the closer”.    He always paints the most vivid

pictures of what happened in cases to ensure

the win.

The other, is Prosecutor Stella. Another Ace in

the courtroom. Her calm confidence and bold

demeanor in presenting evidence makes you

believe everything as truth.

You stand a bit taller to show them you are

confident you belong here & enter the room.

Rei: *frustrated* We have to make sure that we don’t lose this case! That means checking through the case files that the detectives sent to us. You know that the defendant is one of the most corrupted men in the country who has dealt with bribing for the past 20 years. Not only that, he also committed a murder-for-hire on one of his biggest rivals in the business industry.

Stella: *appeasing* I know! But you have to consider that he has one of the best lawyers in the country as well. This lawyer has won over 85% of their cases. His way of arguing always charms the judge’s heart, let alone the jury. We must find a way to fight back in order to put that nasty rat in jail.

Rei: But we have the ultimate weapon in that case. *points at self* They don’t call me “the closer” for nothing.

Rei: We need to grab the necessary witnesses in order to back up our points. Why don’t we use our CCatch s to locate some of the people who were involved in the bribing as well as that mercenary?

Stella: *confidently stands to leave* Sure! I’ll get on it.

Jamie: *throws hands up* Wait! Before you guys go, why don’t you give yourselves a little introduction to our new recruit here?

≻ You: No it’s ok. Everyone already knows who you all are. The Prosecution Aces. I’ve already read up on a lot of the cases you all won. I’m glad to be ing you all. *shakes hands with Rei & Stella*

Jamie: *looks around quizzically* Where’s Chief?

Rei: oh! I haven’t seen him for a while now.

Stella: *shrugs* maybe he went to buy a cup of coffee? I definitely saw him leaving.

Jamie: *eyes widen* Again?! Don't you guys think he’s been drinking too much coffee for the past few days?

Rei: Yeah, it’s because he's so stressed because of the case, and on top of that, the court hearing is soon. I am worried he might get sick at this rate...

≻ You: umm sorry.. to interrupt you guys but.. whom are you guys talking about?

Stella: it's our----

(*Someone from behind interrupts the conversation)

Mags: *irritated* ME! THEY ARE TALKING BEHIND MY BACK, *raises eyebrow* YOU GUYS SURE HAVE GOT SOME GUTS TO TALK BAD ABOUT ME IN MY ABSENCE!

(*a pin drop silence takes place in the atmosphere as everyone looks at Chief*)

≻ You: *whispers in Stella’s ear* Who is he?

Stella: *whispers back* It’s our senior, make sure to not to get on his nerves or else you are dead meat.

Mags: *looks over annoyed* Stella, do you think I don't have ears?

Rei: *rolls eyes* Stella! Stop scaring the new recruit! Our senior isn't thaaat bad.

Mags: *stares daggers at Rei* I can't believe you guys!! "That bad"!?! Wdym? So in your opinion I am a bad senior?!

Rei: *stuttering and backing away* welp- no- that's.. not..

Stella: lol

Jamie: *sighs* guys plz stop it.

Jamie: *turns toward you and gestures to the Chief* Lemme introduce you to our senior. Mags, is the chief here at CCase, He’s our team leader as well as a really hard working person though he’s addicted to caffeine *mumbles to self* but that's a different problem.

Rei: *shocked* But it’s their first day at CCase?

Mags: *calls out as he walks to the front of the room* I can still hear you!

Jamie: *hands you a stack of case files* Here read these. It’s a defendant involved in a bribing case, as well as the many political connections they have. He didn't even get punished when he got framed for a murder case years ago. Now one of the best lawyers in Korea is representing him, so we have to stay on our toes in order to win this case.

Mags: I hope our team will be able to collect enough evidence against him, I want him to see him behind bars!

Jamie: *looks to you* Read the file carefully and don't let anything flop, point out all the facts and if you come up with anything suspicion, discuss it with Rei and Stella.

Mags: OH DAMN! MY COFFEE IS FINISHED, I NEED TO GET A NEW CUP FOR ME AGAIN!!

*everyone shakes their head and sighs*

You pick up the case files that Jamie gave

you and start to look at the corrupted man

shown on the first couple pages of the file.

Then you turned the pages of the case files

to find out who the best contenders for the

witness stand could be.    The first person you

find was involved with the defendant’s bribing

and is an older business man whose company

was falling apart. He was given a couple billion

won in order to merge his company into the

defendant’s chain of companies.   It was also

written in the files that he was bribed in order

to hide the fact that he witnessed the murder-

for-hire himself.    As you turn onto another

page, you see a second contender who is also

perfect for that witness stand.     It was the

daughter whose father was killed due to the

defendant’s murder-for-hire.

All I need is for the first person to show up on the witness stand and confess that he was bribed a bunch of won in order to merge into this monopoly that the defendant created. I’m pretty sure that there are also hard copies of business records stating that he merged with the defendant’s many companies.

≻ You: Not only that, but this man had to choose between going against the defendant and ending up being killed or being bribed so his company doesn’t fall. As for the young lady, the emotional impact that she faced following her father’s death might work in our favor when we show this through the trials.

When you are done thinking about the case

thoroughly, it was already morning. You see

that your fellow   prosecutors were coming

through the office. Now that you got to know

the witnesses involved with the case, you

decide to pick up some business contracts

that prove that the first witness did in fact

merge   with the   monopoly the   defendant

created.    You   immediately   notified Mags,

who was drinking his usual cup of coffee.

≻ You: *approaches confidently* I looked at the witnesses that might be useful for this case. The first one is a middle aged business man who witnessed the hire-for-murder. However, he was bribed by the defendant in order to save his dying company. Another is a woman whose father was killed from this hire-for-murder. She is perfect to ask questions on when cross examining the witness stand. Right now, I just want to notify you that I’ll be getting the necessary papers needed to prove that the business man did merge with the defendant’s company.

Mags: *smirks a little* Alright newbie, we can count on you to get the evidence needed to win this case. It’s going to be tough, but we can trudge through it!
