Welcome back to the second News club blog by your truly! I’ve been busy with university and just life in general, but I hope ya’ll are staying safe and healthy and are social distancing the right way!

Our first story today is one I’m very excited to talk about!

On the 2nd of April the trailer for the sequel to the 2016 zombie-thriller hit ‘Train to Busan’ titled ‘Peninsula’.

The sequel is set four years after the events of ‘Train to Busan’ where Korea has fallen to the zombie pandemic. There are rumours surrounding that some of the original cast such as Gong Yoo will be making a cameo, however this is unconfirmed. It’s also unsure whether any of the original cast will return but we have some fantastic new characters played by Gang Don-won, Lee Re and Lee Jung-hyun.

The film is said to be released sometime in July or August but according to Wikipedia, the release date will be August 2020.

As a massive fan of the first film (which is one of my favourite movies of all time) I am very excited for this, just from the trailer alone it looks incredible!

On April 1st, 2020 heartthrob and my ultimate oppa Lee Jong Suk celebrated his 10th anniversary since his debut. Lee Jong Suk started out as a runway model in 2005 before making his acting debut in 2010- his first drama was ‘Prosecutor Princess’ and his first movie was ‘Ghost’.

Lee Jong Suk is currently doing his military service after enlisting on March 8, 2019. His lasted drama is ‘Romance is a Bonus Book’ which is available to watch on Netflix.

His most popular dramas include; Secret Garden, Doctor Stranger, School 2013, I Hear Your Voice, W, Pinocchio and While You Were Sleeping

Season two of the Netflix historical horror Kingdom has been released! It was released on March 13, 2020 and picks up where the first season finishes. There are six episodes in total and the cast from the first season all return!

Kingdom was one of my favourite dramas of 2019 and I binged watched the newest season with my mum and we were blown away! If you haven’t watched the second season or the first season, I highly recommend you do!

Another anniversary!

Park Hae Jin celebrated his 14 years anniversary on the 1st of April 2020. He first debuted in 2006 on the drama ‘Famous Chil Princesses’ and his first film in 2015 in ‘Snow is on the Sea’.

Some of his most popular works include; My Love from the Star, Doctor Stranger, Cheese in the Trap and Bad Guys. He is currently working on an drama called ‘Old- School Intern’.

I’ve only seen him in Doctor Stranger and My Love from the Star, but those two dramas I really liked him in, and I want to watch more of his dramas!

The final commercial starring Moon Ji Yoon will be airing on April 7 as per the wishes of his family.

Moon Ji Yoon ed away on March 18, 2020 after suffering from acute septicaemia. He made his acting debut in 2002 in the drama ‘Romance’. He was 36 at the time of his death.

Some of his most notable works include Cheese in the Trap, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo and Iljimae.

His agency Family ENT made a statement on March 31st, 2020; “We will be airing the final commercial that Moon Ji Yoon filmed before he sadly left our side on March 18”

Rest in Peace Moon Ji Yoon.
