Hello and welcome lovely people of KA!

Can't believe it took me so long to finish

this series but we're at our last member

finally. Here are my fav seungmin parts

in skz songs! Let's get right into it.

             1 . . . cover me ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:30 - 2:39 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Can't talk about our main vocalist

           and not include this stunning high

           note. I wanna say so much about

           this but at the same time I feel

           like no words will do it justice so

           we should just listen and bask in

           the beauty of this, the peak of

           auditory experience, delivered by

           an absolutely astounding singer

           with flawless pitch, raw skill and

           brilliant execution. "Cover me" as

           a whole is heavy with emotions

           and seungmin beautifully carries

           that to the climax of the song.

             2 . . . cinema ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:10 - 2:14 ᝰ.ᐟ

           It was so hard to pick one single

           moment here, I was torn between

           two parts especially, this and the

           ending, but I ended up going with

           his falsetto because it's just so so

           pretty. It's such a short part but I

           love how he comes in with the

           falsetto then slowly goes down as

           the line progresses and more of

           those instruments are added in

           the back. His singing doesn't get

           more intense, but the change in

           voice tone is enough to match the

           soaring instrumental.

             3 . . . megaverse ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 0:42 - 0:49 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Can I point out that "megaverse"

           is in like 5 of the ' blogs?

           Literally every part of this song is

           a favorite. I had to stop myself

           from adding it to lino and hyunjin's

           blogs. Anyways, complete switch

           up from the last two songs, this

           one gives us a more powerful side

           of his voice, one where seungmin

           is putting emphasis on each of

           his syllables, going for an intense

           sound to fit the fierce music.

             4 . . . as we are ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 0:46 - 1:02 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Can you tell how weak I am for

           falsetto? This whole song is such

           a work of art but I just could not

           resist picking this bit, and couldn't

           even fit the full section in 15 secs.

           This just sounds so pretty. HIS

           VOICE. I adore how he starts out

           in normal chest voice while the

           guitar builds up, only to fade out

           and leaves us with the acapella

           falsetto, before coming back with

           slow strums. Such an aesthetic

           song in its entirety.

             5 . . . wolfgang ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 0:59 - 1:11 ᝰ.ᐟ

           No falsetto, no high note, nothing

           that exceptionally stands out and

           yet one of the most captivating

           parts of the song. That's saying a

           lot because "wolfgang" is one of

           my fav skz songs and I have ALOT

           of fav parts here. The emotional

           instrumental, the slowly growing

           tension in the vocals that ends

           with the last word having more

           force added into it, everything is

           simply ideal.

             6 . . . scars ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 0:53 - 0:58 ᝰ.ᐟ

           I have rambled on and on about

           "scars", I know. But hear me out.

           Or hear him out. This elegant,

           skillful, lovely voice that he uses

           to show off. There's this thing he

           does that I just love, when he

           quickly transitions between chest

           and head voice, and his part in

           "scars" is full of that. At this point

           he's playing with the beat, telling

           us that these different vocal

           expressions are no big deal for

           him, as he makes it look so easy.

             7 . . . maniac ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:29 - 2:39 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Starting off with the most normal

           of tones, he builds up intensity

           along with the instrumental until

           he ends the verse with this high

           note. What's even better is how it

           is followed up by a pause then an

           altered chorus with felix's loop

           of "maniac". It's like a break to let

           seungmin's note fully settle in

           before we get back into the song.

           Understandable, considering the

           amount of times I've had to stop

           a skz song to comprehend how

           hard a seungmin verse hit me.

             8 . . . lose my breath ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:09 - 2:25 ᝰ.ᐟ

           We've talked about high notes,

           falsettos and chest voice, but ad-

           libs are such a staple, especially

           when they're from seungmin. The

           ending of "lose my breath" is full

           of them and I couldn't even add in

           the whole finale. They give so

            much impact to the last chorus.

           Not only do they make up for a

           fuller sound with that explosion

           of vocals while the other skz

           sing the topline, but

           they also complement their

           voices to perfection.

             9 . . . hold on ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:52 - 2:59 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Not even an official release and

           look at it being in top 10. I actually

           included the live version for this

           one because we can hear the high

           notes better. This is a solo minnie

           skz record, but he chose to grace

           us and sing it live as a duo with

           jisung. Anyways, his high notes

           man. They're just magnificent. I

           can't describe them any other way

           and I just love how gorgeous this

           whole segment sounds as he

           does whatever he is doing along

           with jisung.

             1O . . . waiting for us ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 3:12 - 3:28 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Is anyone even surprised this is

           here? This is an entirely vocal

           song so of course seungmin gets

           to shine in his area of expertise.

           I chose the sweetest ad-libs for

           this one, come on, I couldn't have

           chosen anything else. His voice

           is a blessing and this is a prime

           exmaple of it. But also, I love

           when they layer vocals so the ad-

           libs are underneath but still very

           much present. Even better when

           the ad-libs starts at the top then

           later switch to blending into the

           background.

             11 . . . voices ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 1:52 - 1:59 ᝰ.ᐟ

           "Voices" seungmin deserves its

           own spot, I don't care how short

           this part is. He sings over the

           build-up to the chorus and he

           makes us feel the incoming drop

           from just this tiny bit with how he

           adds more and more power to his

           voice, and then drawing out the

           last word while going a little

           higher in tone, only to end said

           note in a strained breath. Oh my.

           Just so talented.

             12 . . . I like it ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 0:06 - 0:19 ᝰ.ᐟ

           This one part is not about vocal

           technique or anything, I mean, I'm

           sure I don't need to reiterate what

           a phenomenal singer he is, but I

           just like this for what it is. It was

           the perfect start to the song for

           how catchy it sounds. It also fits

           the whole vibe of "I like it" with a

           playful tone seungmin uses. This

           song might not be very high in

           my skz songs ranking, but I still

           have to appreciate this verse.

             13 . . . stars and raindrops ᡣ𐭩

       ✃───────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 1:00 - 1:13 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Another seungmin solo and this

           one is also so tailored to him, a

           proper ballad for him to go crazy

           on the vocal work. It's another

           one of those where he sits on a

           fine line between fragility and

           power. His voice depicts both, a

           sense of vulnerability but also a

           sense of empowerment. It's like a

           warm hug on a rainy night. Just

           so refined, yet commanding.

             14 . . . walkin on water ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 1:30 - 1:33 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Despite being the main vocalist,

           seungmin is so good at changing

           his voice to meet the demands of

           their different songs and styles.

           On this very hip-hop influenced

           beat, he uses a more authoritative

           tone, but still manages to show

           off his impressive vocal skills by

           making the last word a notch

           higher, and dragging it out to add

           more of a kick to his verse.

             15 . . . #lovestay ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:12 - 2:18 ᝰ.ᐟ

           We've heard him go high with his

           high notes, but I love how he held

           this one in a mid-ish . I

           cannot pick what I appreciate the

           most here; that similar to the

           "voices" one, he finishes it in this

           breathy way; that the high note

           isn't just one note but it has that

           small break in the middle; or that

           the chorus and instrumentals

           come in before the note is even

           close to over.

             16 . . . secret secret ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 0:51 - 1:04 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Ah shit here we go again with the

           ballads. There's something about

           seungmin singing the songs

           jisung made. Maybe it's the fact

           that he is able to convey the

           feelings of the song so well? Or

           maybe it's just his voice that feels

           like it was made for these kinds

           of slow, sentimental tracks. I am

           unsure, but there's a factor that

           seungmin alone brings to these

           type of skz songs.

             17 . . . gone away ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 1:10 - 1:24 ᝰ.ᐟ

           When he sings over the acoustic

           guitar strums it's as good as over

           for everyone because?? Do you

           hear?? This is the most beautiful

           thing ever. I have never been the

           biggest fan of ballads, but even I

           go back to skz ballads once in a

           while just to listen to seungmin

           and his heavenly voice. Also there

           is some overlap of voices in this

           song and I love the way his voice

           interacts with the others.

             18 . . . your eyes ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:13 - 2:27 ᝰ.ᐟ

           "Your eyes" is such an underrated

           song. The pretty piano, the little

           hints of strings and the delicate

           vocals all combine to create this

           stunning sound. Above it all, we

           have seungmin and his constant

           switches from normal voice to

           falsetto yet again as he tells us a

           tale of trying to understand the

           emotions in someone's eyes. It's

           not just about the story in this

           song though, but also the way

           he delivers it through his singing.

             19 . . . lalalala ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:35 - 2:40 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Big surprise, I didn't go with the

           falsetto bit (I already picked that

           for chan's blog so) but I think the

           "lalalala" ending was just perfect

           with seungmin's intense singing.

           This brings me back to my point

           about how easily he captures

           the vibe of a song and makes it

           his own by adjusting his voice.

           Add in some chan falsetto on top,

           and you've got yourself one of the

           most hype endings ever.

             2O . . . sunshine ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 0:54 - 1:06 ᝰ.ᐟ

           You might think that there are so

           many better seungmin parts I

           could have added instead of this,

           but "sunshine" is a gem of a song

           and I wanted it to have its own

           moment to shine, alright? Such a

           soft, calming vibe and minnie's

           beautiful voice is so ideal for it.

           Surprisingly enough, I think the

           autotune contributes to making it

           even more soothing. It adds a bit

           of a dreamy touch.

             21 . . . maze of memories ᡣ𐭩

       ✃──────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:05 - 2:19 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Of course our versatile king can

           also do something akin to rap,

           because why just stop at singing

           when one is this gifted? Here, he

           shows us a deeper facet of his

           voice, riding the beat effortlessly.

           That, combined with "maze of

           memories"'s mysterious melody

           and bass hits, always gives me

           goosebumps. Also, I feel like him

           rapping in english makes it better.

             22 . . . my universe ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:38 - 2:53 ᝰ.ᐟ

           "My universe" has this uplifting

           vibe and so does seungmin's tone

           here. It's a very playful sing-song

           style that flows in and follows up

           really nicely from changbin's rap

           just before it. Nonetheless, it still

           has sincere lyrics about them

           becoming the light at the end of

           our dark tunnel. This verse ends

           in a glorious high note that drags

           on into jeongin's lines. And then

           he keeps up the ad-libs through-

           out the ending of the song.

             23 . . . novel ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:31 - 2:40 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Ok but skz's japanese songs are

           something else entirely. This one

           has a disney-esque ambience to it

           with that repeated melody that

           lingers around the whole song. He

           comes in with the inflections on

           his voice at just the right places.

           There is one word he pronounces

           where he goes up into falsetto

           for one single syllable then goes

           right back down. And then he just

           decides fuck it, does the rest in

           full falsetto. Love that part.

             24 . . . 24 to 25 ᡣ𐭩

       ✃─────────────────

           ⋆.˚★— 2:49 - 2:59 ᝰ.ᐟ

           Ahhh. Stray kids and their xmas

           songs. I deliberated between this

           and "christmas evel" but chose

           "24 to 25" because I feel like this

           song itself is so seungmin. Even

           the way he starts it with humming

           is so pleasing. I love the entire

           sequence leading to this part I

           added here. It goes from felix's

            deep voice to jisung suddenly

           raising the to seungmin

           finishing jisung's sentence in the

           prettiest way.
