hitchhiking ♡

this performance is just so good! hitchhiking is such a good song and they really killed this performance! if you listen to it with the mr removed you can just hear how well they’re singing! all while performing a pretty complicated choreography! it really shows of SHINee’s endless talent and that’s probably why i love this so much

like a fire ♡

like a fire is simply one of the best live performances out there! first of all, the vocals! they’re absolutely perfect! it really sounds like a recording, though you can clearly hear them sing it live. and the high notes? jonghyun hitting high notes left and right and key casually hitting whistle tones in the end, after singing and dancing the whole song! taemin, onew and minho sounding like a recording? sm really has to stop making them eat cd’s! second of all, they seem to have a lot of fun during the performance! i love how laid back they are, doing stupid dance moves, hyping up the fans and even almost start laughing while singing. it’s so refreshing to see them enjoy and have fun on the stage!

stranger ♡

we all knew this was going to be on here. who could forget the iconic stranger performance? everything about this performance is so good! the vocals are amazing, the outfits are so cool and jonghyun’s iconic high note! my favorite part is just in the beginning because jjong opens the song with so much power. it really drags you in! the slow bear creates a buildup that’s really great! i also really like the choreography for stranger! it has a lot of interesting moves and it just works so perfectly with the song !

321 ♡

this performance my friends! this performance! i honestly can’t make it justice talking about it! i’m amazed every time i watch it. let’s start with how fun it is! i love how they’re just playing around on the stage, having fun! it’s so refreshing seeing them having fun, running around and coming up with stupid dances. the dance break is so funny and i love how they just go all out! also how they jump around most of the time, while singing absolutely perfectly! it’s so exhausting jumping and singing and they’re doing it like it’s the easiest thing in the world! they don’t seem tired at all and their vocals are absolutely amazing throughout the entire performance, doing ad-libs and hitting high notes all the way to the end! 321 is already one of my favorite songs and this performance is just so perfect!

everybody ♡

while every live performance of everybody is great, i specifically chose the one in tokyo where they dance in the rain. it’s just so impressive how they’re able to perform like that in the heavy rain! their vocals sounds like any other performance, and they’re really not impacted by the rain or the really difficult choreography. speaking of choreography, it’s amazing how they manage to do it so flawlessly! the choreography is so difficult, and it includes a lot of jumps. how they managed to not fall during that whole performance is so impressive! it’s like the water’s not even there!

Hi there ! So for my section I decided to do my favorite jonghyun looks ! We all know he’s fashionable so this will be hard for me to choose just a few looks ! Okay so for the first one (I will add pictures of the looks at the end of my section) I chose to do this adorable look, he’s wearing a sorta neon green shirt with the PowerPuff girls, and a yellow turtle neck underneath. He’s also wearing like turquoise colored pants, which complete the look imo :relaxed: . And he also has his iconic pink hair which is amazing on him :relieved: . He rlly suits this, it’s one of my fave looks he has :). Going onto the second one, he’s wearing a mint green coat? I don’t know what it’s called but it is Gorgeous, he’s wearing some rlly cut ripped jeans which make the outfit look more causal than formal ! He’s also wearing a collared shirt with a polka dot tie, which is just chefs kiss :kissing_smiling_eyes: . And once again Jjong has his pink hair which is the best thing to ever exists ! I would dye my hair that color, which I might bc I’m dying it soon !! Anyway going onto the third and final look, I chose this simple yet cute look, he’s wearing a fluffy white sweater, and ripped jeans. And he’s also wearing this amazing burgundy hat which make the look 100x better ! He has the light blonde hair for this one which also one of his best hair colors, I’d say his second right after pink !! :two_hearts:

okay shinee is literally one of the most chaotic groups ever. and gosh they make me laugh on every single variety show they guest on, but one of the funniest shows they have guested on is weekly idol. over their multiple appearances on the show, they have stayed consistent on one thing - roasting each other and the hosts. starting from the ‘YOU’RE UGLIER” to ‘this part isn’t all shaved!’, there are countless iconic moments of shinee being ever so chaotic on weekly idol. key running away multiple times from the studio is another example and so is taemin betraying his in random play dance. every single episode of them being on weekly idol is definitely worth watching, and do prepare yourself for a belly hurting laughter session because it sure makes you roll on the floor laughing.

Has it really been 13 years since SHINee’s debut? It truly doesn’t feel like that long, but to help celebrate it I will be talking about my favorite Onew verses in SHINee songs (not including his solo music). And as he is one of my ultimate biases, who I could really talk about forever, I’ll be keeping this short by only talking about my top three favorites.

First song and I want to talk about the beautiful masterpiece that is “Marry You”. I first heard the song in the “SHINee 샤이니 'Marry You' Live @The Ringtone: SHINee is Back” video on YouTube, which lots of other Shawols watched at its release. And when I say I fell in love with this song and Onew’s verses specifically I am not over-exaggerating. I was honestly kind of disappointed when I found out that this song wasn’t going to be the title track because I was hoping for a beautiful MV with Onew’s cute smile and amazing vocals at the forefront. Onew absolutely owns the bridge, and my heart, in this song. I would just like to take the time and thank the person who decided he should be the one to sing it because it is absolutely the highlight of the entire album in my eyes. He is so charismatic when singing and the usage and control he has over his range with impeccable technique just absolutely rules everything.

The next time I close my eyes to meet you

The next song I want to talk about is one from a long time ago… At first I didn’t want to include songs from around their debut because of how their recent songs are so much more showing of their growth, and Onew’s growth technique wise, but this song owns my heart and it would be a tragedy to not include it. The song I am talking about is “Please, Don’t Go” from their “Romeo - EP” which was released 12 years ago. “Please, Don’t Go” is a duo project between Onew and Jonghyun and the power of their vocals in this song together is so overwhelming, and then the beauty that their different vocal tones made when blended together is just out of this world. This song reminds me of the color orange, a light mellow orange, something sorrow yet hopeful. Onew’s verse itself is so gorgeous but my favorite aspect truly is the blending of both of their voices in the chorus. When listening to this song compared to the group’s more recent songs you can't tell how much Onew grew, but even back 12 years ago he was amazing. The power and raw emotion in this song is something that is able to pull out so many strong emotions out of listeners and is nothing if not a show of his talent.

The last song I chose to include in my raving about Onew’s voice and verses is “Atlantis”... I already raved a bit (A lot) about his verses in “Atlantis” in the review the team did for the album, but I need to bring it up again. There is something so unique about Onew’s voice, and I honestly don’t know how to describe it besides from youthful, and right now I’m thinking about something I read in an article about IU and Onew. The article talked about how IU thought of Onew’s voice as something stable and not-changing, because even after 13 years in the industry his voice hasn’t changed that much in comparison to other idols, who sometimes have drastic changes in their voices which makes it so they lose the youthful sound from adolescence. This is also actually a thought I held when watching the performance for “Marry You”... he continuously sounds so young yet powerful with so many beautiful emotions being represented in the execution of his verses. In “Atlantis” specifically he blends so well with the other in the chorus yet shines so much in his own verses. The vibrato to his voice is so dynamically pleasing, and the way he is able to control the length and fit it in so well without any hint of breaking is truly something so amazing and only something that can be accomplished with so much practice and experience. His verses in this song really add so much depth to this song and definitely pushed me into loving the song itself so much.
