🧊 Let’s break this ice 🧊

:one:

My childhood nickname was Azzie, and I still like to be called that.

:two:

I do like Larme and himekaji. I’m not sure what other Japanese fashions that I like count for this one. Some nanchatte coords I like give me a casual kawaii feel—the ones that are more Catholic than kogal. I’m guessing menhera would be considered too casual, but that’s also my vibe.

:three:

My favorite thing about kawaii Japanese fashion is the opportunity for self-expression that comes with it. I love that fashion can be art, just like music and photography.

:four:

I know she’s kinda controversial, but Pixielocks has been my biggest style inspiration over the past year. I even like that party “kei” has evolved so much, because own style changes day to day. And while the models I see in Larme are gorgeous, I feel like they look so different from me that I have a hard time using them as personal inspo, whereas I can see something on Pixielocks and picture it on me.

My late sister also inspires me, including in of fashion. The fishnets and skirt I’m wearing in the cover photo were hers. Our mother gave them to me before the funeral.

:five:

My “favorite brand” is typically just the last one I ordered from. Right now, that’s Noctu, a UK-based brand that produces eco-friendly loungewear, typically in flowy styles and soft colors, while paying workers at each stage of their supply chain a living wage. Here’s a typical sleepy, girly look from Noctu:

My style is forever changing. I went from boho kid to goth teen to light-traveling bum to where I am now: an alt office lady wearing any style that reflects what a half-forgotten moment in time could have been instead.

:seven:

I’d like to have a wardrobe that better reflects my ethical positions. To this end, I haven’t bought any new fast-fashion pieces in 2020. My goal is to keep that going, getting more into online thrifting along the way. The last item I bought on New Year’s Eve in 2019 was a cheap pair of socks, signifying my (hopefully) last random clothing purchase.

:eight:

Again, my favorite coord tends to be whatever I came up with recently. Here’s my darker take on Larme:

I’m leaving the last question out because I’m not on Instagram or social media generally. I’ve just come to find it too stressful. Folks on Amino seem more relaxed.

:ribbon: Thanks for reading :ribbon:
