POLL of the WEEK
Hey everyone, for this weeks poll of the week we want to know…
Do you and your team Strike Before Banning a Member?
Personal Thoughts
As of now, most communities I agent and or are a member of the team to any capacity absolutely do!
It is my interpretation of Amino’s Guidelines and what I was generally taught by other Agents & Leaders when working my way up that it is always recommended to issue a Strike before a Ban; even if issuing both simultaneously.
Furthermore, and I do understand there is much debate about this - but I have personally witnessed, on more than one occasion, after giving a member a strike on one community- that same strike following them to all other communities they are on.
This matches exactly with what I was told when I started modding on Amino, which was: when we as Agents & Leaders issue a strike, TA can and does, depending on the severity of the situation, make it a permanent record strike across all communities so that other communities leaders and agents are aware that the member has been a problem. They don’t always do this but have every time I’ve ever issued a strike.
So this is another reason why I think it’s important to strike first - even if and when a ban is imminent and or simultaneous.
How do you interpret Aminos Policy suggestion on the matter?

It depends on the situation. If it’s a situation where the behavior clearly isn’t going to change (the member is a bot, the member has ed for the purpose of spamming gore or slurs, etc.), I just opt for a ban
Depends on what happened. In most cases it's a warning, strike, then a ban!
Like NSFW = autoban for example :)
It depends on the situation
Depends on what they did. If it was a small rule they broke then they'd receive a strike. If it was a larger rule (like no NSFW or saying slurs or hateful comments), then they'd receive a ban.
Most people just need time to (metaphorically) sit in the corner and think about what they did.
Edit: Obviously this logic can’t exactly be applied to bots or scammers.
Haha yes!
