It no longer works. Seems like they took it away.

Hello Leader Amino!

Recently I had an issue in another amino where a was advertising an extremely inappropriate amino. While I could handle it in my amino, I knew this amino needed to be flagged for TA to see. Unfortunately, the amino is private.

For anyone who doesn't know, TA had made it so that you cannot flag private aminos if you are not or have not been a member of them. This makes things difficult for those of us who want to report the obvious inappropriate aminos, such as ones with literal R rated adult content as their launch image (cause *clearly* that means nothing to TA).

Luckily for everyone, I'm very stubborn when dealing with this sort of thing, and I found a way around it! So today I'm going to show you how. It's actually quite simple, honestly. Anyway, let's get to the tutorial.

Flagging WITHOUT ing:

First, click the three dots in the upper right hand corner of any inappropriate amino, and click the flag option. I didn't screenshot this step, because I had to do enough coloring to keep this post appropriate. Please make sure you aren't false flagging any aminos, as we don't want the last flag option we have for private aminos taken anyway. Not all of us want to these aminos to flag.

Next, type up your flag message. For some reason we need to do this, even though common sense says you don't need to. Typically I just put "inappropriate amino" or something along those lines. No paragraph needed.

After that, click flag. You will get that annoying pop up that we've been dealing with. The one that says, "You are not a member of this community." Yeah, we know this, but TA doesn't think things through so.

Realized the white was ugly too late, sorry y'all

Now, click flag again QUICKLY. Gonna get the same pop up, but ignore it. It'll go away shortly.

Once again, click the flag option again QUICKLY. These steps where you are clicking flag should be done in quick succession, otherwise you'll have to keep tapping flag. Once it s, it works!

More colored because the amino isn't faded like it is when trying to flag

Oddly enough it took me getting annoyed and just tapping like crazy to figure this out. One time me getting annoyed comes in handy I guess. Hope this tutorial helps y'all with flagging those inappropriate aminos. Please do not abuse this option, as we may lose it all together if you do.

If you want to help with flagging, feel free to read this post by former TA member BirdUp, which highlights keywords and themes that aren't allowed on amino. While BirdUp may have left TA, this post certainly is still relevant. Most of the keywords you can't search, but the aminos who try to sneak by with the themes can still be found and, more importantly, flagged.

If you have any questions drop them below. As a reminder, be sure to tap the flag button at least 3 times with minimal time between each tap. This will allow you to successfully flag private aminos. If there are any typos, ignore them. Good luck, and good flagging.

Isn't it possible to report the amino in helpcenter by providing a link to it in the report rather than flagging it? I do think it is also an ideal way of keeping such things to TA's notice

I mean , I know recently they haven't been responding to reports from helpcenter and are only sending automated bot responses

But for future cases when they eventually listen to our complaints and reports wouldn't a report work better in that case?

They haven't listened to my reports through the help center in the past year, I'm not holding my breath. If they start to, I'll be happy to do so.

Even if you DO flag them to TA there is RNG. Weather TA will act or not is a whole other matter. Like even if TA act those people can create the same Amino again or another alt. Because of that I given up flagging this crap. If they even give a damn I would report lots by now. But them punish ones who did nothing wrong.

Just my opinion, I think it’s good they don’t allow flagging of aminos you aren’t in. It prevents false flagging and the random shutdowns of private communities. I’ve been in private communities that were shutdown despite no guideline violations.

It is understandable and I respect your opinion however several private Aminos were violating Guidelines but nothing happens to them.

I tried this multiple times but it didn't work. Is there any way you can share a test video of this or something so I can see how fast I'd need to be?

It is false flagging, especially since the flags go to TA. There is no option for a test when flagging, so we would have to flag it as something it isn't.

TA is a company built on a computer platform. As a computer industry professional, testing the flagging and stating such is not the same as false flagging which is either malicious or misdirected.

Systems are designed to handle tests and likely because of it being identified as a test would be completely ignored by TA.

Since it would be directed at a private test community with no other purpose, even if there was an algorithmic response it’s no big deal.

The purpose for the proposal was to film the action without exposure to NSFW.

If this still bothers you then ask to be informed of private communities in need of flagging that don’t display NSFW on their landing screen. Once you have one of those, film your flagging it.

Does that work for you?

If you feel that will work for you, feel free to do it yourself. If you have any questions about my flagging method feel free to ask.
