My synopsis:

15-year-old Chloe Saunders is sent to a group home, where she is told she has schizophrenia. But her condition isn't quite that, as she has been put in a home with other supernatural, and Chloe happens to be one. Now they're up to something...

This book clearly isn't a very long read. It took me only a few days to finish, so unlike IT, this book won't take you long to finish :).

Kelley Armstrong is a Canadian author, commonly known for fantasy novels.

To this day, she has written 31 fantasy books. All together, her books have sold over 1 million copies. Some other books she wrote are;

● The Reckoning (Darkest Powers series)

● Bitten (Women of the Otherworld series)

● The Gathering (Darkness rising trilogy in the Darkest Powers series)

And many others.

Today, Armstrong is a mother of 3 and happily a full-time writer.

Age limit:

I would say this is a PG-13 book. There are some dark messages and a bit of sexual reference, but neither are super intense. The book itself isn't a super hard read, and I would say a 11 year old would be able to read this, minus the dark messages.

Main characters:

➵ Chloe Saunders.

Once Chloe started seeing a dead janitor at school, she was sent to a group home that changed her life for the better and for the worse. Chloe is an intelligent, caring girl. She's not dumb once she starts realizing that things are weird. In the story, Chloe changes and evolves a lot as a person throughout the story, so it's difficult to describe her personality. But she is definitely a dating person who believes in what's right.

➵ Derek Souza.

Derek is an odd, quiet and fairly shy boy whom is more to than meets the eye. He's smart beyond his years Derek is Simon's foster brother, and both are on the lookout for Simon's father.

➵ Simon Bae.

Simon is a confident, comionate boy who cares very much for the people around him, especially Derek. Simon is always determined to reach his goals and to move on when something- or someone... gets in his way.

➵ Rachelle "Rae" Rogers.

Rae is a clever girl who has a "thing for fire". Rae is also kind, caring and always ready to listen and help out. She also takes a lot of risks, and her confidence isn't low.

➵ Victoria "Tori" Enright.

Tori is a very bratty, demanding girl. She always wants her way, and will go to extreme measures to get what she wants. Despite having such an unlikable personality, she tries her best to get better and leave the group home as soon as she can.

➵ Elizabeth "Liz" Delaney.

Liz is an extremely kind, sweet girl. She's smart, and like Derek, she is more than meets the eye.

In my opinion, this is an amazing book. Definitely a page-turner for me. For me, the flow of the book was perfect and it was really well written. Each event after another wanted me to read ahead and find out what will happen to this group of supernatural kids next. If you're looking for a book with suspense and you're interested in paranormal things like werewolves and necromancers, this book is perfect for you. But I would 100% recommend this to pretty much anyone.
