Today our takeover is based off Disney Musicals! But this post more specifically will be talking about the lovely Mary Poppins!

Have you seen this musical by Disney? If not I can explain what you can expect. And of course because I am going to be explaining the plot, you can expect some spoilers.

Mary Poppins, released in 1964, is a musical directed by Robert Stevenson and produced by Walt Disney.

Set during 1910 in London. A man, George Banks and his wife Winiferd live together with their two children.

After Geroge comes home from work one day. He learns from his wife that their Nanny has left, meaning quit, since their children decided to run away.

They didnt run away exactly though, they ran to find their kite which got swept away. Soon after the father decides to hire a new nanny. But tears up the advert.

Thus introcuding Mary to the children and the family who takes them on incredible and magical adventures.

This musical is a heartfelt movie about family and love.

It ends on a beautiful note, which I wont exactly spoil. But if you're intrested in finding out what happens, I recommend reading about it or watching the musical!

Mary Poppins is the woman who responds in quite a magical way, by the advert that the man wanted to put out.

Bert

Dick Van Dyke

Bert is actually Mary Poppins close friend. Knowing about her magical abilities they have good interactions throughout the musical.

Jane & Michael Banks

Played by

Keren Dotrice & Matthew Garber

Jane and Micheal are the children of Mr. Banks. Jane is the oldest and Micheal is the youngest.

Mr. Banks

Played by

David Tomlinson

Mr. Banks Is the father of the two children and he is the one who set out the advert in the first place planting the seed to encounter Mary Poppins.

Ellen & Mrs. Brill

Played by

Hermione Baddeley & Reta Shaw

Ellen and Mrs. Brill work in close quarters with the Banks family. Ellen is the housekeeper and Mrs. Brill is the family cook.
