Description & Thoughts;
Emperor's 4th and final studio album which marked the resulting change in sound showcased throughout their discography, having added more emphasis on symphonic pallets and wider rangers into an overall Progressive variety of Black Metal. Perhaps the band's most complex work, as well as their only true concept album, the songs improve on previous fusions with mixes of clean and shriek vocals on a relatively spotless mix of distorted guitars, for a Black Metal band at least. The album ranges in style from the Thrash-inspired riffs such as in The Eruption and Empty, to more poetically driven melodies in songs like The Prophet, in which all said styles are used interchangeably. The lyrics of the album appear to describe the story of the Greek God Prometheus in his trials through punishment for the theft of fire, as he struggles with the mutilation by an eagle, prior to his ultimate demise in death, hence the title.

Description & Thoughts
David Bowie's 12th studio album and the second of the Berlin Trilogy, a trio of albums made in collaboration with Brian Eno. Though not the most successful album of the trilogy, it did spawn its most iconic single, being its iconic nostalgia-inducing title track. While lyrics had generally been recorded as an after-thought on 1977's Low, this album takes things further by having much of the lyrics crafted on the spot. The title track is a solid example of this, being directly inspired by romance near the Berlin Wall. The album's second single Beauty And The Beast as well as the closer The Secret Life Of Arabia shows more Disco-inspired elements that had become a mainstay in Bowie's releases at the time. Similar to Low, the latter half of the album takes a more Experimental and Ambient direction, with songs like Sense Of Doubt, Moss Garden and Neuköln serving as back-to-back instrumentals and V-2 Schneider a mostly-instrumental saxophone-led electronic jam.
Album; Cowboys From Hell
Artist; Pantera
Year; 1990
Genre; Groove Metal, Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal

Description & Thoughts;
Pantera's 5th studio album and their first following their shift in sound from their Glam Metal beginnings to a sound more influenced by southern blues, Thrash Metal, and slower tempos which would go on to shed light on the dominant genre of the 1990s; Groove Metal, whom Pantera would become the forerunners of. Right from the start, the iconic opening title track kicks in with some instantly memorable and groovy riffs from guitar legend Dimebag Darrell, assisted with a headbanging backbone from his brother Vinne Paul and bassist Rex Brown. Vocalist Phil Anselmo, having debuted his vocal talents on their previous album Power Metal, emphasised the grit and growls of his lower and quick percussive shouting on tracks like Domination and The Art Of Shredding, while also maintaining his soaring high falsetto on Cemetery Gates and Medicine Man, and more aggressively so on Shattered. The album is a cornerstone in Heavy Metal as a whole and the kickoff for the Groove Metal genre.
Album; Dawn Seekers
Artist; Dawn Seekers
Year; 2025
Genre; Heavy Metal, Electronic Metal, Alternative Metal

Description & Thoughts;
Dawn Seekers' 2025 debut compilation album featuring individual tracks from the super group's trio of Brony musicians; PrinceWhateverer, dBPony, and Melody Brony. The album, though not intended as a concept album, is a collection of songs written in inspiration from a fan series of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic by the animator Tamers12345, in which crude humour, crass dialogue and visuals are combined with epic battles and complex storylines that deal with love, violence, and vengeance. PrinceWhateverer provides the tracks The Mare In The Mirror and Burn Me Down, while dBPony contributes Unicorn Heart and You're Who I'm Missing, and Melody whines on The Bitter End and Shattered Love. Many of the group appear on each other's tracks as guest musicians, making this an obvious choice of lineup of some of the best Brony Rock and Metal musicians.

That's all for this month! As I take the time to move into my new apartment and get situated, I'll find some appropriate times to go to the store to get some new stuff. Until then, Peace And Love!
