The next few weeks flew by. Marinette settled in better than she originally thought she would. All the teachers had been kind and considerate aswell which made everything even better. She was also still with Adrien, Alya and Nino which was a good sign- looks like she finally had a group of friends she could rely on.

Although, things had started to change slightly. Whenever Marinette spoke to Adrien her heart started beating that little bit faster. It was probably nothing, I mean what would it be? Luckily no one had noticed- at least she didn't think so...

She was back in maths and was sat next to Chloe (the only free seat available when she was introduced to the class). Adrien was on the other side of the room; sitting next to a guy that wore a green top and square glasses. They'd been introduced vaguely, his name was Max. He seemed nice, a little bit too nerdy but who was she to judge?

Marinette was busy working through a booklet about circle theorems when Chloe whispered to her.

"Can you help me?" Marinette put her pencil down and looked over to Chloe's page.

"What question?"

"Number 17. I think the wording is confusing me." Marinette glanced over the question. That one was quite easy compared to the others. They'd done much harder stuff. She wasn't being serious was she?

"That one is pretty easy. First of all you do the alternate segment theorem to find the angle on the line then you just take it away from 180." Marinette gestured as she went through the answer to make sure she understood.

"Thanks Maz." The bell rang aloud as they both packed away. Maz? Ok she hated that nickname. It didn't sound right. "I'll see you at some point, ok?"

"Yeah bye." Marinette waved as the blonde girl left the room. She had decided that the more she spent time with her, the more she trusted Chloe. Whatever Alya had against her didn't matter. Chloe was nice.

"Hey, I'll see you at lunch. Have fun in textiles." Adrien saluted to the bluenette and walked out.

"You too." Marinette spaced out slightly and finally came back to her senses when her maths teacher Mrs Perry clicked her fingers in front of her face.

"You should tell him." Marinette shook her head and looked at the teacher confusingly.

"Sorry what? Tell who?" Mrs Perry simply laughed and smiled at the girl.

"Tell Adrien you like him." Marinette opened her mouth to protest but the woman put her hand up. "It's as clear as day Marinette, you kept on glancing over at him and you tend to space out when thinking about him." She walked over to her desk as she sorted through a pile of books; occasionally glancing up at the bluenette.

"I do not!" Marinette could feel her cheeks heating up. She quickly covered them with her hands to hide her blushing. "He's just a friend..."

"I'm not here to argue." She quickly looked at her watch. "You should get going. Here, give your next teacher this note so he knows why you were late. I'll just say that you asked for some help after lesson on a question." She quickly scribbled down a message, signed it and ed it to Mari.

"Thanks Mrs Perry." Marinette took the note and folded it up neatly in her pocket before walking towards the door.

"If you ever need any advice on anything dear, my door is always open." Marinette nodded and smiled as she closed the classroom door behind her; racing to make it to textiles without being too late.

"You still up for me coming around to yours?" It was the end of the day and Marinette was walking to the bus stop with Alya and Adrien.

"Of course Alya, I'll see you at five."

"See you then. I can't wait to meet your parents!" Alya patted her friend's back and ran down the street in the opposite direction.

"So, had a good day?" Adrien tucked his phone into his pocket and turned to the bluenette.

"Yeah, what about you?" Marinette could feel her cheeks heating up once again; something that had been happening a lot recently whenever she talked to him. The feeling was new to her, one she wasn't familiar with. Perhaps it was the feeling of falling in love? No, that can't be right. They've known each other less than a month. There's no way feelings can form that fast, right?

"Could've been better, not going to lie." Arriving at the bus stop they sat on the seats in silence. It wasn't an awkward silence like she was expecting. "Hey Mari? You feeling ok? You seem a bit more nervous than usual."

"I'm fine, just tired." Marinette tucked her hair behind her ears and avoided his glance.

The bus ride home was the same. A comfortable silence with the occasional small talk. As the bus came to a halt at Adrien's stop he picked up his bag and turned to Marinette.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow Mari." He gave her shoulder a squeeze as he stood up and exited the bus. As he grew further away Marinette put in her headphones and sighed deeply. She put her hand on the shoulder Adrien had just touched and smiled.

She thought about what Mrs Perry had told her that day. Maybe she was right. Maybe she was slightly falling for the blonde boy. She hated keeping things to herself so she decided to ask Alya for advice when she came over, she had a boyfriend so she knew what she was doing. But what if she thought she was being silly? But then again, they were friends so surely she'd be ive.

Marinette snapped out of her thoughts as the bus came to a stop outside her street. She quickly exited the bus and continued walking to her house. These thoughts played on her mind until she reached her front door.

One thing was for sure... it was clear that she was starting to think of him as much more than a friend...
