Massacre at Central High (1976)

A high-school transfer student pushed to the edge by a trio of brutal bullies resorts to murder to reclaim the school from oppression, and later turns against the students wanting to fill the vacuum of their oppressors.

Reportedly, director Rene Daalder was so upset with the film's musical score that he did not watch his own movie in its entirety for three decades after its release.

With the exception of the school dance towards the end of the film, no adults are ever seen in the film.

Turner Classic Movies was scheduled to air this film as part of their TCM Underground series on April 3, 2009 but the film was pulled when standards and practices decided it was too violent to be aired.

It’s clear who the killer is from the first moments. But it’s notorious for the reason that no weapons are used to kill the victims. No guns or knifes. That makes it an original slasher.
