For a shockingly short amount of time in hollywood it was a common trend for long running franchises to have a two part film. With this film more then usually serving as the final film in the franchise and yet just as quickly as that trend started it faded away and well it is now back with another film that's just released it's second part only this time it doesn't look like that the franchise is stopping or even slowing down as by now the franchise has become more well known for being a series of films then for being a TV show and so then me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that reminds people of why we like Hayley Atwell with the film in question being called simply just "Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning" enjoy.
The plot of this film is just a few months after the events of the previous film Ethan and his team are tasked with tracking down and AI that has infiltrated most of the worlds defenses before it launches and starts World War 3. Now then in of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time tho given just how long the release was between this film and the previous film and the fact that this is film is meant to be the second part to that film this films plot doesn't really catch you up on what happened in the previous film something that it really should have done given the fact that the previous film came out in 2023 but at the same time tho this films plot is still just as delightfully dumb and insane as you'd expect it to be from this franchise at this point in time as this franchise is pretty much known for it's over the top plots and that's exactly what this films plot was in all of the best ways possible and while yes it would have been nice if the plot of this film did take the time to remind us the audience of just what exactly happened in the previous film it's something that really wasn't needed either as this films plot works just fine with or without that catchup and heck it could even work as a plot to film that's not the second part of a two part film as well as that's just how good that this films plot is with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then in of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this films actors turning in some decent performances which does make alot of sense on two s the first of which being that alot of this films main actors are reprising their roles from previous films with some of them having played their character in quite literally every single installment of the the film franchise and the second one of which being the fact that alot of this films actors are a bunch of really good actors in their own right and would therefor be turning in a good performance in the first place but while yes the overall quality of this films acting is still pretty high there are some performers in this film who don't turn in a that good of a performance with it being there acting that does lower the quality of the films acting down by quite a bit which is odd as this films writer , producer and director Christopher McQuarrie does know how to direct his actors and get a good performance out of them something that he still does do here for the most part it's just those very few actors that don't turn in a good performance that really didn't get alot of his attention with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them more naturally something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is Industrial Light & Magic , BlueBolt , Moving Picture Company , One Of Us , RISE Visual Effects Studios , Rodeo FX and beloFX. Now then in of what I personally thought / felt about the CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as alot of this films effects did look really good but that is something that was always going to be the case given just who is working on these films and therefor it's not really all that surprising what was surprising tho was seeing just how little VFX where used in this film as while yes it was great to see some good looking effects in this film it's also better to see alot of things that could have been done in a computer be done practically or with very little CGI work done to them as possible with the best looking effect in the whole movie being the Russian dub that Ethan swims past whilst underwater as you really do get a sense of the scale of the boat when compared to this human being being right there next to it which is something that the makers of this film really didn't have to do and yet they went and did it anyway and while yes there are some CGI explosions in this film those don't look anywhere near as good as one CGI Russian submarine does as you don't get that sense of scale with the explosions with them just being there because you expect hem to be there but with the boat you don't really expect to get that sense of scale there as films don't give us that all that often and yet this film when ahead and did it anyways with that being just the tip of the iceberg of all of the really good looking CGI effects that are to be found in this very film.

This film does something that none of the other Mission Impossible films have been brave enough to do and that's kill of a member of Ethan's team which in this case was Luther Stickell. Which was in all honesty quite a shocking moment as he's a character that you'd just expect to be there and yet to see him get killed off quite early on in the film does set the tone for the rest of the film as it now makes us the audience believe that if this longstanding character can die then maybe anyone else on the team can die as well which is something that sadly the film does fail to live up to despite them hinting that Benji will also be killed off as well but with Luther they at the very least make his death be key to the plot of the film as before he dies he explains to Ethan that he's made this virus that will capture and stop the AI once it's ed before then finishing up on disarming this mega bomb that once one of it's detonators has been destroyed will explode with Luther sacrificing his owl life to save Ethan's which was a nice touch as without saying any words it shows us the audience just how much that these two characters really did mean to each other so much so that Ethan let's himself be arrested as he's just so overcome with seeing his best friend die infront of his eyes and it's due to Luther being killed off that we get a good idea of just how far that Gabriel is willing to go to get what he wants which in this case is the key that Ethan stole from him at the end of the previous movie something that whilst it wouldn't have been possible to do would have been less effective if they replaced Luther with say Benji or Grace as apart from Ethan Luther is the only longstanding character to have been in every single Mission Impossible film released to date.
Something that is a bit of an issue wit this film is the fact that it has a twenty minuet prolog scene which isn't a bad a idea and would be that bad of an idea if it added something to the plot of the film. However it really doesn't as all it is is just Ethan and Grace meeting back up again before they both captured and then start to escape and that's really it and that's not something that needed to be in the films prolog as it adds nothing to the plot of the film outside of showing us how the world has reacted to the ending of the previous film and that's really it and that's something that could have been placed anywhere else in the film as the opening to a Mission Impossible film should really have been treated like the pre-titles scene to a James Bond film in that it's just there to get you back into the mood of watching a James Bond film and that's really it and while showing us the audience how the world has reacted to the ending of the previous film is a great way to show continuity and connectivity without calling notice to it it means nothing because of the fact that us the audience would have forgotten all about the previous film and what happened at the end of that film and therefor having a more fun filled opening where we get to see all of the character be re-introduced just doing what they do best would have been a great way to start the film off as it welcomes us back to this world and gets us excited for the film that we're about to see where as with the opening that the film does go with all that does is get you checking your watch to see when this prolog is going to end as that's just how really dull and lifeless of a prolog that it really is as the films tells us nothing that's actually important to the plot of the film outside of the fact that this AI has it's own cult and that some of it's have infiltrated high ranking jobs which even that is something that could have been saved for the main film as it's told to us through a news report on the TV.

In what could be seen as being a smart move is the fact that this film does also show us the President Of The United States Of America struggling to make the choice on if she should launch there nuclear missiles first before someone else does the same thing to them. This was a good move as it does add quite alot of tension during the films third act by showing the characters in those scenes each struggle to convince her that there choice is the right one and it is something that could theatrically happen as well and yet while those scenes where good they also had a lame pay off as we know right from the very beginning how those scenes are going to paly out and sure enough they go the exact same route that you think that there going to go even hitting on the same plot beats that you think that there going to hit on as well and heck the president even has a speech about how they always have a choice which while it was a really good speech it's not one that's needed as all that does is break the moment of the scene and while they do add some added tension near the end by having someone trying to kill the president as she's trying to make the call the stop the missile launch it really didn't need that added tension as aside from reminding us of this cult which is meant to be in alot of places they really hadn't played any kind of a role in the plot of the film thus making them feel like an afterthought with there inclusion in the scene with the president feeling like that the makers of the film forgot all about the cult idea until the very last minuet and then decided to have one guy try and shoot her before being shot himself by General Sidney.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours an forty one minuets and forty three seconds. Which for any film is a shockingly long time to last even more so when you take into that this is an action and those don't typically last longer then two hours barring of curse superhero films but that's really it with this film really having just the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time with this film even using it's running time very wisely as well as the film actually takes the time that it really needed to take in order to fully flesh out it's plot as this is of course due to the fact that it's the second part of a two part film and there for it's doesn't have to fully develop it's plot all that much as the first previous film did alot of the leg work for that with the film even fully developing alot of the characters which is something that they didn't really have to do due the fact that alot of them have been in this franchise since the very beginning and therefor us the audience will already know if we like or hate these characters with the only characters that get short changed in this film are Paris , Gabriel and Grace and that's pretty much it as Paris barely gets any speaking lines and when she does there in French and don't tell us anything about her character with Gabriel just straight up not being in large portions of the film and therefor can't be that well developed in the first place with the same thing also being true for Grace as we don't even get to find out all that much abut her character wither but I really will it that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was on all honesty really good. With this film basically being one long stunt real for Tom Cruise as he does pretty much all of his stunts in this film with all of them looking really good which is also true for all of this films action scenes as well as while some of them alot more slower paced then what they should have been as that only made them less thrilling and exciting to watch they more then made for that in spectacle with all of this films action scenes having that one special moment that makes them standout from the rest with both the best and worst action scene in the film being the one where Ethan has to try and get from plane to another mid-air to take on Gabriel which is the best action in the film in the way that we get to see alot of really cool plane stunts in the film alot of which were done by the actors themselves which was something that made those scenes alot of fun to watch with it feeling like the right place to have the big stunt of the film instead of at the start of the film like they usually would have done in this franchise but at the same time tho it's also the films worse action scene due to the fact that not only is the scene on repeat mode due to the fact that every single time that Ethan gets near him Gabriel does something that knocks him away thus starting the process all other again but the editing also didn't help as it was rather slowly edited which is great for taking in what we're seeing but it also makes what should have been a really entertaining scene also feel dull and boring to watch as well which is also kind of the case for alot of this films action scenes as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while then film might not be the end of the franchise and given that Tom Cruise wants to do a Harrison Ford and keep on making these films until he's in his eighties he has to that only two Indiana Jones that Harrison Ford made when he was in his eighties weren't good and are largely considered the worst films of that franchise where if this film was to be the final final film of this franchise then alot of people would be OK with it as this film does give us a really nice ending for the Ethan Hunt characters in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now the i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad thigs that are in this very film in this very review and a such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Mission Impossible fandom wiki page , IMP Awards .
