The 2002 Aaron's 499 at Talladega was an interesting race weekend for Evernham Motorsports as they entered 4 cars, which included the 91 Dodge Dealers Dodge that was driven by veteran driver Dick Trickle. Dick Trickle was making his third start of the 2002 Cup Series season after making his first two races with Marcis Auto Racing, where he finished 42nd place at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway. The 91 Dodge Dealers Dodge showed up to Talladega Superspeedway with a similar design to his Evernham Motorsports teammates Bill Elliott and Jeremy Mayfield other than having blue splitter and number. Unfortunately, the 91 Dodge Dealers Dodge wouldn't make it to raceday at Talladega Superspeedway as Dick Trickle failed to qualify for the 2002 Aaron's 499.
