The Ecopoint

Ecopoint: Antarctica was active during the Golden Ages of Overwatch, and was used to study and observe the ever-changing climate of Earth.

The Ecopoint was maintained by a team of 6, consisting of Adams, Arrhenius, MacReady, Opara, Torres, and Mei-Ling Zhou.

Operations ran smoothly until the station was hit by a storm that kept them indoor-bound, leading to the dwindling of supplies for the staff.

When they were left with only enough to last them 4 days, they decided it was best to enter cryostasis until a rescue team was sent to their aid.

No rescue was ever made.

9 years later, after the fall of Overwatch, only Mei-Ling Zhou was left alive. Her coworker's life systems had all failed, and the ecopoint's connection to the outside world had been long severed.

Mei has since left the station, dedicated to delivering gathered climate information to the now-recalling Overwatch in the hopes of saving millions of lives.

Not much is known about Mei's coworkers, but this is a compilation of what we /do/ know.

It's meant to be more of a tidbit, short 'n sweet catalog entry, anyway.

Perhaps someone in the future (Blizzard-senpai??) will develop the characters listed above.

Perhaps it's more for emotional purposes as well- their cups do say things about the staff's personalities, as well as hinting to other parts of Overwatch's lore.
