Hello everyone and blessed Yule!
I've spent the day with a witchy friend of mine. We celebrated Yule in a very simple way without planning anything specific.
I wanted to surprise her with a Yule Log Cake, so I've spent hours making it and all of its decorations today. The way she looked at it made smile and showed me that all the work was worth it. :relaxed:

I don't have a plate it fits on, so I had to use a cutting board. At least it looks like there is snow all over it because of the white sprinkles. XD
If you want to know how I made anything of it, feel free to ask.

Wow, that’s sooo pretty!!
Thank you!
Omg 🤤 I would be smiling if I came home to that cake. It looks delightful 🩵
WOWZER!! That’s amazing!! Those pine cones are intimidating. Are they chocolate-covered chips or from a mold?? I was trying to figure out how you made them and those are the only ways I could come up with: dipped chips or nuts into chocolate and then before the chocolate cools, put them on a base and build it up??
And the ‘shrooms, are they cake, too? The tops look like toasted custard, but I’m just wildly guessing.
The cherries are easy to figure, and I’m guessing that’s a sprig of rosemary that looks like pine needles.
This is so cool!! A work of art, kitchen art!! And a puzzle, too. Please tell me/us how you did the pine cones and shrooms!! :woman: :egg: 🪴🖖🏼
For the pine cones I made a cone-shaped base out of marzipan and sticked cornflakes into it. Then I covered it with dark chocolate.
For the mushrooms you have to use a non-stick pan and make sure it's as hot as possible. Then you press a marshmallow on it for a few seconds and you have a beautiful shroom :mushroom: If the pan is not hot enough the Marshmallow just melts and doesn't get brown on top.
You were almost right with cherries, but they are actually cranberries. Rosemary is correct

Thanks for replying!! DUH on the cranberries. It’s so creative and beautiful, too.
When you say “non-stick pan”, do you mean a pan with a flat bottom or some kind of muffin or cupcake pan? If a flat-bottomed pan, are you saying to press the marshmallow down for a few seconds and then that flat pressed part becomes the toasted top? I’m having a bit of trouble visualizing it; hope you don’t mind my questions.🖖🏼

I've got the idea from this video: https://youtube.com/shorts/1I_eT7UF9YQ?si=e98F0x34EVeGBAy5 It's in german, but you don't have to unserstand what she's saying to know what she's doing.
She doesn't even mention a non-stick pan, for some reason I ed it that way. XD But if you still want to know, a non-stick pan is a pan with a special coating things don't stick to, even without using oil/butter.
Awesomeness 🤗
this looks so good omg
Thank you
