For a little background: I have tapestries hanging around my bed from the ceiling like a canopy! I'm including an image from inside my tapestry fort!
I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before, but I realized I could probably use these tapestries around my bed, which is my safe haven, as wards!
The problem is even though I have a mentor, he wasn't very clear with how to create wards and maintain them, and I haven't practice very much so I still consider myself a baby witch. I know the basics of energy work and working with crystals and divination with tarot but that's about all he taught me.
My idea is to block negative energy from getting into my sleeping area, and to expell negative energy from inside my sleeping area (be it from nightmares, or when I go to calm myself from anger and anxiety in my safe haven) without inadvertently keeping myself out of my wards.
Does anybody have any links to trusted sources for how to set up wards in this way, maintain them, or any ideas? Are there any herbs/oils/etc. that would be helpful in such a ritual while also being fabric/dye safe?

You can charge them with crystals and meditate with them, draw a pentagram with moon water or protection oil if you dont mind that, or you could light a black candle over it and focus on protection and putting the energy in the tapestries
I do have a ton of moon water I made during the lunar eclipse earlier this year! I've had it stored away bc I haven't been doing much spellwork, and they're unopened bottles

Oh thats great! But id maybe use the eclipse water for some other things like for drastic changes or if you need to shake something or someone up a bit, for protection and as an amplifier i usually use regular full moon water, depends on your beliefs tho, do however you feel is right :)
I don't have a source but perhaps you could enchant the tapestries and turn them into talismans kinda. I would suggest meditating on them/with them, you could perhaps use incense and draw a pentagram over it or charge it was crystals, that's all the ideas I have but there's probably way more. Hope that helps
