As I told you in my intro, my witchcraft is much around the Elements. I read in this community and found some posts over connecting with water and how to call the elements in a ritual, but for me, the elements are much more.

🌪 :fire: :droplet: 🪨

I’m pretty sure, you all use their power, in your magic more or less aware. Let me give you some examples, of what Elements are for me. The start will be the element water, because it’s so versatile and mostly available.

Watermagic-As I told you in my intro, my witchcraft is much around the Elements. I read in this community and found some post

I have to say, you never use just one element. They are always some kind of mixed up and stuck together. Chemically seen, water is a product of two gases (oxygen and hydrogen). On the other hand, you will never have air without some water in it. Even in the desert, there is life, because the hot air cools down at night and the dew covers the land. There were four elements in the last sentence. Did you notice  ?

🌪 :fire: :droplet: 🪨

So, let's start with water magic:

Water is a symbol for:

purity, the flow of things and time, health and above all, all kinds of emotions.

There’s a German adage that someone has built (his home) near the water. That means the person starts crying often.

So water is a perfect tool for all spells that handle emotions.

It is also used for cleansing, cooking and plants need it to grow.

Watermagic-As I told you in my intro, my witchcraft is much around the Elements. I read in this community and found some post

Now let’s take a look at the different kind of waters and some ways to use.

There are:

:droplet: Spring water - purity, inspiration and breakout, curiosity and surprise

You can use it to start something new or recover something old and things that shall come to light

:droplet: Creek water (small stream) - liveliness and fast movement, happiness, restlessness

You can use it for giving or maintaining a strong input to move or change or shall find a way

:droplet: River water - steady and more smooth flow, sorrow but also serenity and it can be anger

You can use it to keep things going and avoid stasis or interruption, and to let things go (give it in the river).

:droplet: Seawater (sweet or salty) - depth, secrets, calm, the end and the beginning, wisdom, rhythm, emergence and circle of life, provenance, fear, revulsion (if salty or dirty) but also hope

You can use it as a mirror, to hide or find something in the deep, to finish or come to an end but also to start or renew, and for things that needs to calm down or get routine or cycle.

:droplet: Rain water - grief and melancholy but also growth and fertility

You can use it to let something grow or nudge it, to work with someone's grief,

:droplet: Morning dew - purity, softness, gentleness, beauty

You can use it to take away hardness and for smoothing

🌪 :fire: :droplet: 🪨

Water can be combined with other elements as well.

Combined with Air

:droplet: 🌪Fog - Myths, transience, disorientation, veil

You can use it to hide or find something hidden or lost.

:droplet: 🌪Spray - finest droplets

You can use it to spread something wide or to wake emotions up softly

:droplet: 🌪perfumed water - water with flavors

use it to expand and supplement the characteristics of your water

🌪 :fire: :droplet: 🪨

Combined with Earth

:droplet: 🪨Mud - you can use it to hide or bury/sink something, slow it down or even bring it to a standstill

:droplet: 🪨Colored water - use it to complement the energy of the colour

:droplet: 🪨Gemstone water - use it to complement the energy of the gemstones

🌪 :fire: :droplet: 🪨

Combined with Fire

:droplet: :fire: boiling water - you can use it to destroy something, but also to make it eatable,

e.g. if you have something you don’t like, but you have to live with.

:droplet: :fire: Steam - I think, there are even 3 elements in here - hard to handle, destructive but full of energy. If you are very angry, you have to let off steam.

🌪 :fire: :droplet: 🪨

Now, don’t get mad about finding all these waters. You don’t need to have them all. You can visualize it, put it in words, take a picture or use normal water and put salt in it (every salt we have, was an ocean long before). Be creative to give your water the right characteristics.

Watermagic-As I told you in my intro, my witchcraft is much around the Elements. I read in this community and found some post

There are way more options than the ones I gave to you.

Another point about water is, how to work with it:

Here are some examples:

:droplet: Freeze water - to stop something / feelings (e.g. make a sorbet in case of lovesickness)

:droplet: Melt ice - to get something going (e.g. a frozen heart) or being discovered

:droplet: evaporate water - to dissolve something (e.g. problems)

:droplet: sprinkle water - to bless something or make it grow

:droplet: spill water - to wash something away

:droplet: Inhale water (vapor) - to animate your Spirit (use herbs here too)

:droplet: drink water - to animate your body (make a tea)

:droplet: wash with water - to cleanse

:droplet: bath in water - purify, stimulate, renew (preparing for rituals)

:droplet: soak with water - revive or drown, depending on

🌪 :fire: :droplet: 🪨

Uhh, that was a long one.

Thank you for reading.

I’m sure that I forgot something. Please feel free to commentate and expand the lists.

I hope, you enjoy my writing and get an idea of what it means to work with the Elements.

Oh, I like your words. I didn't put the astrology in, because it gets a lot more complicated, but you are absolutely right and it would be interesting to hear more about that connection.
