Although they could go with something entirely new for Gens X and XI, but whatever it is I certainly hope can come with an app to use on our phones as well.

If Pokémon Champions takes off, it'll definitely take advantage of the Pokémon Home's connectivity.
Just wished that we were allowed to trade ANY Pokémon into games where they are available from the get-go.
Pokemon Home is meant to be the long-term plan for Pokemon storage and transfer. Since Bank was made years before the Switch concept was finalized, and there was no cloud or smartphone connectivity. With Home, it can take advantage of both of those aspects.
