Rise of Darkrai chapter 4: Raging Seas

(Heads up: this chapter has a couple more intense moments.. for people who read the legends stories, this should be nothing new)

"ugh... huh?... where... am I..." Sprout looked around... seeming to be in a abandoned house..

"it looks familiar but I can't... ugh ..." Sprout sighed before hearing something

"... who's there -" Sprout froze as he saw another chesnaught... towering over him ..

"wHy.... WhY....."

"Uh...hello?.." Sprout looked a little creeped out..

"The Roots shall pull you into misery...."

Sprout now started to look even more confused..

soon everything turned pitch black... the smile from the chesnaught being the only thing visible...

"Legacy defaced.... destroyed... by your selfish choices..."

The lights flashed on to show the chesnaught... now with holes all over its body

"Your day of reconning will come and there will be nothing left!!"

The chesnaught grabbed both of Sprout's arms, tugging on them with great force...

"Agh- let go!!" Sprout tired to pull back... hearing bones crack...

The Chesnaught laughed as they pulled harder

Sprout closed his eyes.. until he felt something snapping...

Sprout awoke and looked around... seeming to be in a cave... "what was that ..." Sprout looked at his arms to see scars on them

"this ain't right...."

Sprout heard a roar ahead... "ugh... something about this seems so... familiar... but I can't recall why..." Sprout approaches what looked to be the entrance to the deepest part of the cave...

the lights went dark before something shined bright... a time gear...

"there's the next gear.... I guess I know what my objective is .. getting that gear..." Sprout walked forward and immediately froze as lights flashed... showing the gear was attached.... to lugia...

"wh- Lugia!?" Sprout looked baffled...

"All who enter..... will suffer..."

Sprout looked mildly disturbed "this isn't like you..."

Luigi roared and grabbed ahold of Sprout's arm

"All tresers..."

"WILL BE RIPPED TO SHREDS"

Sprout immediately curled up and threw Lugia to the wall

"I don't know what the hell's gotten into you.. but if it's a fight you want ...." Sprout curled up and started charging rollout

"It's a fight you'll get!"

Sprout shot forward, slamming Luigi back into the wall before being grabbed.. "hmph! that won't stop a thing!" Sprout's shell started spinning, forcing lugia to drop him

"I'm not leaving without that time gear!" Sprout jumped forward and grabbed ahold of it, pulling with all his might until he heard something snapped and was immediately warped

"urgh... I'll never get used to that..." Sprout looked around.. seeming to be in the white void again..

"huh?... that's strange... i thought I'd be sent elsewhere..."

he looked behind him to see the structure.. having fully been restored.. "huh... well.. I guess my job is done there..." Sprout looked around before being hugged from behind "eep!-"

"Sprout!" Hydro smiled

"heh.. so I was right about something..." Sprout turned around

"so.. i have a rough idea of what's going on here... someone has messed with the Time gears.. whenever I find them

they're... glowing red .. at least with the two I came across.."

Sprout sighed" I hate to think this but.. I think an old "friend" might be messing with time itself..."

Hydro sighed "Darkrai..."

"bingo..." Sprout looked ahead to see another lifeless structure.. "and that's where I gotta go.. there seems to be two time gears in each of these structures..." Sprout sighed "I'd better hurry.. who knows what he's trying to do... " Sprout ran off towards the structure

"hopefully he knows what he's doing..." Hydro sighed before seeing another chesnaught in the distance

"huh?... am I seeing double?.."
