Tim got up after a moment. He had taken time to think on his had happened. No matter what, this needed to be done, he needed to get the bottom of whatever was happening here. Leaving the building he was in, a small shack, maybe having belonged to a hunter before everything that had happened, marching forward, a large building came into view, a laboratory, hidden out past the woods. If he wanted to learn more, he’d need to infiltrate it. Reaching the entrance, he noticed rustling in the trees before a creature that looked almost bat-like but the size of a panther, flew out of the trees. Tim quickly took out his shotgun, blasting it as it grew near, killing it, only to hear further rustling in the trees as a swarm of giant bat creatures began flying towards him, and in the distance, the same monster that had poisoned him had found him once again, charging at him. Tim quickly and forcefully pulled the large door of the lab open a crack as he slipped in, closed it, and pushed something in front of it to at least hold back the monster.
Tim looked around. A large almost lobby-like area. It was 2 floors, first floor had three doors on the left, and three on the right. Upstairs was a large elevator, locked behind a keycard access and a room on either side, also locked behind keycard slots, one titled “Disposal” the other “Research” both key card readers and the elevator were powered off. Tim walked over to one of the doors on the left of the first floor, a door with “Electrical” on it which he pushed open, inside were electrical parts, a brand new fuse laying on the table, two Slashers that had been patrolling the room turned to look at him, one screeched, charging at him, the other jumped at him. Shooting the charging one with the shotgun knocked it back, however, the one jumping at him landed atop him, slicing down with blade like appendages as Tim used his shotgun to block the attack, fumbling for his handgun before shooting the slasher in the face a few times and kicking it off, grabbing the shotgun again and blowing its head off while it was down. The previous slasher suddenly sliced at Tim who just barely blocked the attack with the shotgun before slamming the butt of the gun into the slasher’s face and shooting it in the chest, punching a hole into it as it fell over dead. Tim breathed heavily and grabbed the fuse, bringing it over to a fuse box which he opened. All fuses were blown, three in total. Tim took the fuses out, placing the one he found in, restoring power to the disposal room, but without the keycard, there’d be no getting inside.
Leaving the room, Tim walked over to the door next to it, armory, walking inside Tim could see a large bulky creature, it’s head merely a mouth full of sharp teeth, perfect for shredding off someone’s head. Tim sighed, “never easy huh…” the creature ran at Tim, grabbing at him as Tim rolled out of the way, pumping blast after blast of shotgun shells into him as he took it, grabbing Tim and throwing him into some lockers as Tim struggled to his feet and took out his knife, stabbing it into the creatures neck, nothing. Picking him up again, the Snapper inched its mouth near Tim’s head as Tim just barely aimed a gun into its mouth and fired. The Snapper dropped Tim, squealing as Tim limped over to a box, opening it to reveal grenades. The Snapper roared at Tim as Tim suddenly threw a grenade into it’s mouth. As the Snapper swallowed the grenade and titled its head, an explosion ripped it apart from the inside as Tim leaned against a locker groaning a bit in pain before searching the room. Perfect, an assault rifle, a bit of ammo, enough for rough encounters, a few grenades, and a first aid spray.
Tim walked to the last room of the left doors, “Morgue” written across it as he pushed the door open, his handgun at the ready. The room was large, larger than the others. It had to be dozens of strange and failed versions of Slashers or Snappers. It seems the virus being used on these subjects didn’t always work as intended. Nevertheless, Tim inched forward carefully, at the end of this large room laid not only another fuse, but a keycard. Reaching the end of the room, he grabbed both. Hearing groans behind him, he turned to see the failed subjects rising before they began screeching. Tim’s eyes widened “Oh shit…” he muttered as failed Slashers flung themselves at him while he ducked and dodged out of the way. A few failed Snappers attacked too, large arms punching at him while their small arms dangled uselessly as Tim’s adrenaline carried him past their attacks as he turned to close the door a slasher sliced him across the chest as he yelled out in pain and closed the door, fumbling through his belongings and taking out a first aid kit as he sprayed it over the wound before bandaging it as he took some measured breaths and looked up at the second floor. “One more fuse and I can check upstairs.” Tim reassured himself.
Walking across the room to the right hand side to the door labeled “Equipment” attempting to open the door it seemed to be locked, too sturdy to break down. Tim sighed and walked over to the next room over “Lost and Found” in front of him was a safe needing a code, for once, no enemies, instead, on the wall to the right, was seemingly a puzzle. A quote was on the wall “We don our coats for the sake of others, instruments of science to perpetuate security and put hearts at ease, we are Firestone Industries.” Tim began looking around, above the quote was a scanner, on the opposite wall was a section for lost and found clothing, in it was a doctor’s coat which Tim put on. “Hearts at ease…” Tim thought to himself, walking over to a lost and found container and searching through it. “A stethoscope?” Tim pulled out the stethoscope. “Worth a shot” he said as he put it around his neck. Just under it was an ID Card for one of the scientists “Jacob Senstine,” clipping it to the coat, Tim walked over to the scanner. After a moment, a secret entrance opened, throwing off the coat, Tim walked through it, and into the equipment room that had been locked. Noticing a fuse, Tim smiled in relief, grabbing it and walking to the door, unlocking it and exiting. Glancing at the entrance, Tim noticed the door straining against the monster on the other side, he was running out of time.
Running back to Electrical, Tim reached the electrical box, replacing the fuses as the power returned to the upstairs rooms and elevator. Tim moved quick, leaving the room and running to the final door downstairs, “Quarters” was written on the door Tim flung open, it was full of beds, seemed the human researches there must have slept there, near one bed was a note, Tim picked it up “The safe code is too easy. “The name of our company, really? The last name of our founder. I keep telling some of the senior researchers it’s a security concern but they blow it off! Sure it’s unlikely anyone comes here, but what if they do?” Tim thought for a moment “Company name… Firestone?” Tim walked back to Lost and Found, walking up to the safe and entering “Firestone” sure enough, the safe opened, in it, another keycard, the one to the research door. Tim smiled, leaving the room and quickly heading upstairs. He looked at the Disposal and Research room, eventually deciding on Research, as he scanned the card and walked inside, he was taken aback to see the room slick with gore, inside, many dead scientists, the researchers. As well as many Evolution Soldiers, and in the back, a large container, one that could very well belong to the monster that had chased him so far. It began falling into place. Evolution got here first, while some failed and believed they couldn’t have made it very far, a few pushed through, they got to the lab, chased down the researchers. In the chaos, while the researchers were gunned down by Evolution, the Researchers released the monster to save them, but by then they were all dead, all it succeeded in was killing the soldiers and freeing the monster. Tim jumped, hearing a loud bang. Running out of the room, Tim found the very monster before him, it had broken in.
Tim looked up at the 9 foot tall monster in horror, its teeth bared as it drooled. It’s 8 appendages sliced and stabbed at Tim as Tim quickly jumped over the railing, landing hard on the second floor. Tim took out the assault rifle as it jumped down to the first floor, firing at it, the bullets doing nothing due to its scales as it sliced Tim over and over before grabbing him and throwing him at the stairs. Tim felt bones crack, probably ribs. Tim groaned in pain as he crawled up the stairs, an appendage stabbed him in the leg as Tim yelled out in pain, his adrenaline kicking it as he got to his feet, limping up the stairs and spotting disposal, limping towards it, the creature roared and grabbed Tim, opening it’s jaw, only for Tim to fire a bullet into it’s maw, making it screech and throw him hard into the metal door as Tim grunted in pain, struggling to his feet while scanning the keycard, seeing a large open container connected to a machine, Tim thought quickly, getting in front of the entrance to the container as the creature walked inside. Tim shot it a few times as it roared and charged him. Leaping to the side, Tim flipped a switch on the machine as the entrance closed, locking the creature inside. “Go back to hell where you belong.” Tim growled as he pressed a button, a device in the container whirling to life as a powerful energy filled the container, slowly disintegrating anything inside, destroying the monster, permanently.
Tim limped over to a table, finding the elevator keycard as he took it, leaving the room and limping his way over to the elevator, using the keycard to enter. Two other floors existed “Main Laboratory” and “Roof” Tim hit the first, the elevator moving up until it reached it’s destination, a ding rang out as the doors opened, before him, stood a man in a lab coat and glasses. “Firestone?” Tim asked, his gun raised now. The man smiled and nodded “Yes, Mason Firestone, head of this little lab and CEO of Firestone Industries.” Tim narrowed his eyes. “You’re under arrest.” Mason was silent for a moment. “I understand that you’re upset… it wasn’t supposed to be this way. My… subjects, happen to be very protective, the smartest can use weapons. They knew you weren’t invited here so they attacked. Then the escape of H2L6 in the Evolution attack, him attacking you. Look, I know you went through a lot, but I’m not the bad guy here… this island was going through a lot when I arrived, most natives were dead. I tried to help the remaining ones but most never survived, those that did helped our researchers. We never killed any subjects, we used the already deceased. Yes, we made bioweapons, but my intention is to use them for good, not sell them. We can stop wars that hurt the innocent, stop Evolution. Clean up whatever’s left of Umbrella.” Mason tossed Tim some keys. “This is for the helicopter on the roof. If you just leave, you can trust that I’ll do what’s right. Maybe we can help one another, make the world a better place, free of bioterrorists. I know this may not be how you do things but please, all you have to do… is let me go.” Tim was silent. All that had happened, a mistake, all thrown into chaos by Evolution, he could see it. But it didn’t change the fact that these were bioweapons. They’re dangerous, even if there were good intentions, but at the same time, could they actually be used to better the world?

Take em in. And throw away the key. All those scientists are dead, what’s he doing alive? 🤔
Yay happy ending
