Female beings connected with the underworld, the Sirens were particularly dangerous to men; it is hard to find any story in which women suffered at their hands. They first appear in the Odyssey as beautiful females who sit in a meadow by the sea, enchanting ing sailors with their song so that they swim ashore, or land, and perish miserably Round them is a great heap of bones that come from the rotting corpses of men.

           Born from an affair, the child was named

            Verity per her father's wishes. The name

            Verity stands for 'truth' in latin. Her father

            left after a year of her life, leaving her

            mother with the taunting child of truth that

            she had conceived within lies.

          Over time, Verity’s voice had grown husky with             

            time, still latching firmly onto the transatlantic

            accent she had picked up during her short

            These creatures are told to be beautiful rulers of

            doesn’t seem to focus much on religion

            nowadays, Verity always had a small inkling

            there was something holding power over her,

            over all of them.

            claimed, as she brushed it roughly every

            morning, tugging it away from the girl's face.

            Verity’s pale face is a sharp heart shape, a soft             

            pink tinting the apples of her cheeks that were

            littered with light freckles. Her eyes were a dark,

            dingy blue from the moment she first opened             

            them, pairing well with the rest of her cutting

            features.

           An introverted soul whose veins run with the

            need for revenge. Verity is a quiet killer,

            learning things about people as she hides in their             

            shadow as she waits for her moment

            to strike. Her aura comes off ‘creepy’ as

            ersby have muttered in the past, leading             

            people to stray away from her. In the rare

            circumstance a bond is formed between her and

            a human being, it does not stay very long. Many

            of the people who have called her friend return

            as a bloody corpse of their former self if they

            return at all.

           Verity was born to an affair in the later 19th

            century. Her biological father was out of the

            picture quickly, leaving just her mother and her

            husband to take care of the child they husband

            had named 'truth' despite his life being woven in

            lies.

           By one, Verity’s only father figure had left silently,

            leaving her mother alone and living in poverty.

            Her mother was drowning in a loathing for her

            only child, praying to any God that would listen to

            help her, to take this child away from her arms, to

            take it far away and drown it.

           It was years of the God's not listening that drove

            Verity’s mother to pure insanity, deciding to take

            upon the grueling task of murdering her child

            into her own hands. At this time, Verity was aged

            about nine when her mother led the girl to the

            cliff they had visited many times in her             

            childhood, only this time, her mother finally

            gained the courage to do what she had only

            prayed for.

            Verity was pushed off the cliff, drowning in the

            cold waters beneath.

            But her life did not end there. For years, the sea

            cradled the girl's soul as she grew into a woman,

            her legs traded for a tail, her innocence traded

            for revenge.
