Cassandra Goth is proud to call herself a family sim. Family is everything for her, and she is everything for her family. She has been ever since her mother, Bella, vanished into thin air nine years ago.

And now she's about to start a family of her own with her boyfriend Don.

She's heard things about Don that she doesn't want to believe. That he's a lover, that he will never settle for just one woman. They come from the Calientes mostly, which is a good hint that they're fake. She's sure that all those two care about, especially Dina, is her family's wealth.

Still, as she gets married, she doesn't think of them. All she cares about is the life that she's going to have.

Her and Don's relationship has been blissfully beautiful for the two years that they've been together. He's been attentive and caring, and that's how he remains even after the wedding.

He's also attentive and patient with Alexander and takes an active parenting role when Cassandra isn't there to help, or when she's tired from work.

Mortimer doesn't like that he quit his job, but Cassandra actually agrees with his decision: once they have children, he'll be much more needed as a father than as an intern.

But Don is not as innocent and kind as Cassandra thinks he is, and the Calientes know of his exploits maybe too well - in fact, they've been fumbling with him longer than Cassandra has known him. But hey, they did warn her! It's her fault if she doesn't want to believe them.

One who does not know of their exploits is definitely Mortimer - he is smitten with Dina Caliente, so much so that he wants to keep her in his life forever.

Dina is maybe too eager to accept. If anything, she's very sincere when she says she can't wait to be his wife.

He soon moves into the Caliente's condo to help Dina organize the wedding, leaving the house and most of the Goth fortune with his daughter.

Don and Cassandra's honeymoon comes after two years for their marriage, mostly because of Cassandra's work.

They choose a tropical destination and spend time together, in complete relax. Cassandra hopes this will finally help them conceive, while Don just enjoys the beauties in their swimsuits.

Cassandra finally receives the marvelous news she'd been hoping for as they settle back from their honeymoon: she's pregnant!

She's absolutely elated to start her family at last, and hopes that many more children will come after this one, but for now she gets ready for her new role with nothing but happiness in her heart.

When their little baby is eventually born, Cassandra is overjoyed to find out that they had a girl, her dream since she started wanting children.

She and Don name her Isabelle, both in honor of Cassandra's missing mother and in the hope that she will one day get to meet her namesake.

But, as fog eventually clears, so does Cassandra's blind trust in her husband. And it happens in the worst way possible: she comes back from a checkup the same night she gave birth (she has some pain that, however, has been ruled normal) only to find him doing things he shouldn't be doing with Dina Caliente.

She's sure that the screams of the fight that follows her discovery can be heard all over Pleasantview. With her trust shattered and her heart in pain, Cassandra isn't even sure this marriage is worth continuing.

Eventually, for her daughter more than for herself, she agrees that they can try and make it work so long as Don stops seeing Dina and its to all of his affairs.

Don promises there is no other woman, even shows her his phone, and Cassandra chooses to believe him. For now.

They go to sleep in separate bedrooms, promising themselves that tomorrow will be a brand new day.

But tomorrow never comes for Cassandra. She wakes up with intense abdominal pain and she and Don try to make it to the hospital, but she collapses on the front lawn and never wakes up again.

Cassandra Goth, the gem of the Goth family, dies of birth complications at the age of 33, leaving behind her beloved daughter Isabelle, her precious brother Alexander, her dearest father Mortimer and her husband, Don.

The aftermath of Cassandra's death is nothing but pain for everyone, especially for Dina, who feels like the culprit of her daughter in law's death.

The whole affair thing has not come out completely - Mortimer knows she and Don were jokingly flirting, not that they were being physical, and that's how it has to stay. It's an implicit pact between her and Don, to never reveal a thing to Mortimer. They're just lucky Alexander was at the Burbs' and can't say otherwise.

Don is disoriented in the first year without her. Caring for a newborn alone while also managing a house and a grieving teenager is harder than he ever thought it could be, not to mention that Mortimer is furious with him.

He tries to be a good dad, but knowing this girl is who killed Cassandra makes it hard.

It doesn't take him long to move on from Cassandra, though. He starts a relationship with their new maid, Kaylynn Langerak, who is more than happy to lend him a hand in forgetting what happened.

She tells him immediately that she's having an affair with someone else as well, but he doesn't really care. If anything, the fact that she won't ask commitment out of him is reassuring.

Young Alexander soon takes up most of the care for his little niece. He feeds her, cleans her, changes her diaper and plays with her. He shows her all the love Cassandra no longer can, because it helps him feel her close.

As for Don, he sticks around until Isabelle's third birthday. He does try to be there, but it's hard. So the same night she turns 3, on the third anniversary of Cassandra's ing, he makes his way out the Goth mansion silently while everyone is asleep.

Once outside, he breathes in the taste of freedom. He's going to be better off without them.
