I'd had my eye on this species for quite a while so I finally finished making one! Once more I'm info dumping here and will finish her wiki soon. I have alot of ocs to make to fill out this little plot bunny of mine lol.

Star Saphirine is a simple gem of few words. She is decisive and driven strongly by her instincts. She decides whether she likes someone or not in an instant and sticks to her guns no matter what. Star rejects order and society, preferring to do what she wants when she wants, taboo or not. She respects individuality, stubbornness and rebelliousness. Star speaks in a manner similar to a cockney accent and doesnt know how to whisper when she does speak. She has a peculiarly long tail, which she has been known to use like a whip.

Star belongs to Black Diamond, alway has. She respects his tendency to follow his mercurial whims no matter the consequences. She is very loyal to him and is often called Black Diamond's pet. She is among the many who defected when he did.

Star's use is similar to that of a bloodhound, Thanks to Sapphirnes being specialized Saphire hunters. She has lead Black Diamonds soldiers to many of Homeworld's headquarters on planets being conquered. The collar around her neck tracks her, once she's set loose on the battlefield she can make a beeline for the closest Saphire, and where there is a Saphire there is a leader. Due to their nature Sapphirines aren't usually put to use by other Diamonds (idk if thats fancanon for them or not, but i assumed idunno lets just say in my au thats how it is), but Black saw the potential in such a gem. Before he defected Star was mostly ornamental, hanging around his court to intimidate gems. She perfectly showcased Black's cutthroat ways, the fact that hed have a Sapphirine instead of a Saphire was enough to make him particularly frightening even for a Diamond. Only after he rebelled did she become a critical asset, however.

While on Black's ship she is usually escorted by Onyx, Black Diamond's right hand Quartz. The two are very close, and have been known to fuse into Cat's Eye Chrisoberyl. It's not uncommon to see the fusion walking around, even when unnecessary. They don't stay fused longer than a few days because Star always gets jittery. Despite not wanting to remain fused always, the two are practically ed at the hip.
