AFL : My first two months in college

Today, for my first post on SA community, I decided to talk about my first two months in college as an AFL student in chinese.

I, at first, thought it was very scary. I was just finishing highschool, I did great for my exams and I was going to go through a new chapter in my life. I was anticipating the amount of work I might have to do, but also the amount of effort I'll put into it. Do not get me wrong, I've always done my best when it comes to studies, but I was afraid that it might not be enough for college. It was a new place, with a lot of people and very different from highschool.

I was really happy to find out that what I am doing is something I love. It was one of my main concern when going to college: "What if I choosed wrong?" "What if I realize I lied to myself and it was not what I wanted to do?". Turns out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. I love what I am doing. Of course I hate some classes (economy, uUh) but overall, I mostly have Chinese classes, which are the best things in the world! I also decided to take Korean night courses, and I also love it!

Even though I learn Chinese quicker than Korean, I am willing to put as much efforts as needed to be able to end up being fluent in Korean as well as in Chinese!

☆.｡.:*　Issues I have to face　.｡.:*☆

I don't really know if the following things are real issues, but I still have to deal with it in an unpleasant way.

First, making friends. I'm a rather shy person and I don't really like/know how to socialize, which ended up with me being all alone. I have talked to some people, but I wasn't able to make friends. I know it's not a big issue and I can still see my forever friends I've known for a long time now and that are in my college, but it makes me a little bit sad. Don't get me wrong, I love being alone. But college along with my current way of living made me realize that even though I really like being alone, I don't fancy being lonely.

I also realized that putting more efforts into studies than I was doing before with mental issues was really tiring. I have a really though schedule, which is allowing me little time to sleep and requires a lot of time to be focused on my studies.

I know it may seems like nothing to some people, but I'm living with a constant fear of failure and not working enough. I also know that a lot of people out there feel the same. The fear that you are not working hard enough, that doing your best is not enough and that you will fail if you're not putting more efforts into studying. I've always used that fear to succeed in highschool, but I really wonder if that fear will still allows me to succeed in college, because I really feel like I'm not working enough when some tell me I'm working too much. I don't really know.

At the end of my college years, I hope I'll be fluent in Chinese and Korean, and have my degree attesting it! After that, I plan to go to Korea to pursue barista studies, and I hope I'll be able to work there~

I mainly wish to be able to work as both a barista and a translator. And I also want to translate a book one day, from English/French to Chinese/Korean and the other way too! It would really be awesome, and I'd love that~

I also want to have some working experience in China, to make up my mind between if I'd rather live and work in China or in Korea. But I'll probably go to China during my third or fourth year of college, so I'll maybe be able to make up my mind real quick!
