1. DON'T STRESS
Unless you have a week til you have to submit your portfolio I wouldn't stress. Although I was and it was 2 months til it was due (December 1st). After this step you will see why.

2. PLAN PLAN PLAN
Set aside some designated "Art Portfolio" time. Cause if you don't you won't get it done.

3. Find Inspiration
I personally like to find inspiration on Pinterest (My :pushpin: みこあかね, sorry it's in Japanese, I'm not Japanese I just like the name). Search up art and you'll see tons and I mean TONS AND TONS AND TONS of artwork. My favorite artist on here is James Jean (Although I'm pretty sure I can't do what he does I love to look at his artwork).

4. DO IT!!!!!
Now that you've calmed down, planned and found some inspiration:

Trust me when I say this do not look at look artwork on Pinterest and think that's cool and don't do it. DOING IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!!!!!!
Personal Story:
I want to double major in Elementary Education and Art with a concentration in Graphic Design. Although I haven't taken a graphic design course in my life, I love the designs, logos, typography, etc. What I've been doing is just to plan/ do art work over the weekend and after I get all my hw done after school. I am also using 3 pieces that I did last year and the year before for my portfolio. I also looked on Pinterest for inspiration.
I strongly suggest doing some kind of cross contour cuz that's what I've been working on since Friday. I did 5 hours on Friday then 5 hours yesterday and hopefully today I can finish it.I really like it and I think I might do another cross contour piece. Although it does take some time. (Ignore the much needed manicure)

My portfolio/ application deadline is December 1st (at least 10 pieces) and I have 7 pieces including the cross contour I'm still working on. As I said 3 were from last year and the year before, 2 are from this year and 2 I did on my own time. So just try to squeeze in some good quality artwork that you think is a good demonstration of your current art skills. Also since I have 3-4 weeks til the deadline I can squeeze in 2 pieces that we'll be doing in AP Art. So I'll just need to do one more piece on my own. But overall: DO NOT STRESS. I was until I planned out everything.
Hope you all do good :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: Good Luck
YOU WILL SUCCEED
