∘✩ my career challenge ✩∘

A few months ago I changed my career plans almost every day. When I graduated college I still wasn’t too sure about what I wanted to do. Then out of a feeling I applied to med school and got in!

On October 4th I will start med school and while I’m excited, I’m also super nervous and scared.

I’m planning on becoming a pediatrician or a neurosurgeon in the future. I still didn’t choose for sure but in med school I’ll go trough every field and will probably find what I would like to do!

Since I grew up and studied most of my life in Korea I was always being watched strictly by my mother. She made sure I aced every class, made me to extra classes and things like summer school. I was never bad in school (only math lol) since I was scared of failing and scared of my mothers punishment. I worked a lot during my time in school which got me a scholarship for the med school I’m gonna be attending now. It was very rough to work so much but in the end it pays off!

I think the only thing I’m really expecting off of it is that I’ll learn a lot and be able to do the things I learn. I think I’ll be having a lot of fun treating patients and making them feel better by helping them! I’m really looking forward to saving lives. I don’t want to sound like I’m sure I’ll be amazing but I think with the ambition I have I really could totally become a good doctor or surgeon!

Study as much as I can to get all the important knowledge and be able to use it on patients! Studying is something I’m good at and I want to try to be good in praxis too. I’ll work my hardest to fulfill the expectations I have for myself. I want to listen and learn carefully.

Study now! This is probably the most important thing I can say. Be ambitious and try to meet your goals. Don’t slack off because it’ll show later! Rather than trying - “do”, because you can if you want to. My mother told me everyday to do my best now so I can be the best I can later on and I think that’s the right mindset for achieving a big goal.
