My peice on the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

As promised I’ll be doing a piece on the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as per you voted. I may not be a writer, I’m in high school and I ed a journalist club at my first year. But, I did my best on this piece. I’ll may not be going through the whole story, maybe just the scenes that I found illuminating. Enjoy

Harry and Sirius

In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry finds out he stills has family in the wizarding world, which we learn that there will still be a person who can truly love you, we learn that there is still love even in a world full of wrong. As we know it, Sirius Black is Harry’s Godfather. He was known to be a mass murderer killing a bunch of muggles (if I’m not mistaken) when he missed Peter Pettigrew except by the finger. Sirius wanted to kill Peter because he sold Harry’s parents to you-know-who. Sirius Black was one of James Potter’s best and most loyal friends and he wanted to avenge them.

The story started with a boy, who was unusual on many ways, for he was a wizard. I believe he was called Harry Potter. This boy he hated summer holidays because he had to stay with his muggle aunt and uncle at Number 4, Privet Drive. Harry was treated horribly by the muggles, half scared and half full of hatred. Harry hated to be away from Hogwarts, Magic and all the exciting adventures with Hermione and Ron. But, It will all come back once he aboard the Hogwarts express. For now, he had to wait for September first, the glorious day to come. Harry found the summer holidays to be long and boring. Obviously, a wizard’s lifestyle is far from a muggle’s perspective of life.

I learned from Harry,

that being who you are is alright and that nobody should bring you down.

Aunt Marge is Uncle Vernon’s sister. Even if she wasn’t a blood relative of Harry (Aunt Petunia was the sister of Harry’s mother) he was forced to call her “aunt”. Marge’s visit had been, well, terrible. She was very loud, bossy and rude. Not to mention, her favourite annoying dog, Ripper. It was on the book that Ripper chased Harry out into the garden and up a tree, and Marge didn’t call him off until midnight. This still made Dudley cry tears of laughter. One evening, Aunt Marge took it a bit too far. You may be familiar with the scene when Harry burst out with anger, when his uncle and aunt only told lies on dinner about Harry parents (both jobless, his dad being a drunk and his mom a serious problem she ed to Harry) And Marge arguing with Harry and insulting his mother and father. Well, I found Justine and satisfaction when Harry accidentally made Marge inflate like a ballon with helium and floated away.

I learned from Harry,

That when someone or anyone is saying and doing wrong, don’t just stay put, do something to stop the evil.

Of course, Harry got into trouble. Vernon was furious. But, out of anger Harry decided to leave with his trunk and Hedwig.(about time!)

I learned from Harry,

That when all else fails, run.

We all know and can’t forget about the scene when Buckbeak attacked Draco (merely gave a scratch) and Draco overacted.

I learned from Buckbeak,

You should respect all lives.

I learned from Draco,

You should never underestimate.

Don’t you think Lupin’s resignation was very sad and devastating? he was a decent teacher. He was just worried, not to mention the fact that he was a werewolf, he could’ve bitten anyone. It’s hard to find a job and it’s even harder when you’re a werewolf. I think good souls like Lupin deserves a better life. But I think he has everything he ever wanted. Family, loyal friends (except Peter), freedom and plenty to eat( thank you Molly).

I learned from Lupin,

No matter what you are, you should accept your life and just try.

I know plenty of potter heads s Dramione. But personally, I think the highlight of Dramione was when Draco got punched by Hermione in the face. It would’ve been a waste of a spell, but I think Hermione’s technique was brilliant. It is actually insulting when a muggleborn hits a pure blood, particularly Draco. It’s like he took a slap on the face.

I learned from Hermione,

That you should take a stand, especially in bullying.

I learned from Draco,

Once more, never underestimate.

At the shrieking shack, when Snape came bursting in saying “vengeance is served” and Harry threw Severus an Expelliarmus. Snape came tumbling to the old bed.

I learned from Snape,

That bad people never win.

Peter Pettigrew was disguised as Scabbers. I mean, he spent 12 years with the Wesleys and Black was in Azkaban for 12 years. He was missing a finger because of Black (why could I not see it!) Peter Pettigrew was known to the Wesleys as Scabbers and to Black, James and Lupin as Wormtail. Yes, he was with school with Sirius, Lupin and James and they thought he was his friend. But he betrayed them. He didn’t think if You-know-who didn’t kill him, they would, together.

I learned from Peter,

Death isn’t really terrible than Life’s Guilt.

We know about the scene when the shocking truth came out. Sirius didn’t intentionally kill those muggles. Lupin was a werewolf and their school history was revealed. Scabbers was Peter, and he was the real criminal. Oh, and Hermione can time travel. It was really, Shocking. I was disappointed in myself when I didn’t figure it out before the “truth scene”. I didn’t use my common sense, I overlooked the clues. Honestly my mom said I was too hard on myself and that I was a little paranoid at the time.

I learned from here,

That the truth is essential in life and sometimes it could be life.

When Harry and Hermione help Sirius escape from a terrible faith, Sirius hadn’t have the chance to have a fair trial (either way) Only Harry, Hermione,Lupin, Peter, Dumbledore and Sirius himself knows the truth. Sirius said that it was enough that Harry knew.

I learned from Sirius,

That one person can make all the difference.
